    Pros

Good networking opportunities. General staff was nice and well intentioned. .

    Cons

Horrible Executive Management Team - The Executive Director was very oppressive and manipulative in nature. She was very self-serving under the guise of wanting the best to help fragile families.

    Advice to Management

You really should spend your funding on your stated mission rather than ACS rejects who are clueless regarding their ever-changing job titles and responsibilities. You are wasting tax dollars under the pretens of strengthening fragile families.....

I have been working at Forestdale full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The campus is very beautiful and gives the families a place to relax. There are some people who are really trying to do a good job.

    Cons

Just about everything. There is a very good reason that this organization does not have a good rating. The leadership is toxic and completely unprofessional, and sets good workers up to fail over and over. The general feeling is that if you are a good worker, you will keep butting up against leadership that doesn't help AT ALL until you get frustrated and leave. Reading all these reviews makes me feel so much better because I thought it was just me that felt this way. Phew!

    Advice to Management

Stop setting up people to fail. Your lack of confidence in your staff says more about you than it does about them.

    Pros

Foster parents and children are a joy to work with.

    Cons

The worst organization. They demoralize staff. Revolving door since the executive director was selected. Very self centered and over payed while giving the staff and foster parents very little support. Dictator organization. If you want to learn how to run an organization to the ground, follow Forestdale executive director examples.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating staff as slaves and foster parents as welfare recipient.

    Pros

The grounds are gorgeous. Some of the people are really nice. The families you work with really are grateful to have someone actually really care about them. The location is pleasant-but be forewarned, this is all to lure you into the Venus Flytrap of what it really is.

    Cons

Where do I begin? When you first start, everyone seems great. Within weeks you are overworked, expected to see and meet with families, do home visits, go to court, document, attend meetings, help your families with everything they need, supervise visits when you are doing all of this, and then attend case conferences and training. No one is really supportive of you and you will be tossed under the bus by supervisors on a regular basis. It is the least supportive and most demeaning place I have worked.

    Advice to Management

How about actually caring about the people who work for you? This is the most corrupt place ever.

    Pros

    Beautiful location
    Some social workers really care

    Cons

    Upper management sucks
    Manipulative and mean

    Advice to Management

I was traumatized by this place. Upper management was so mentally draining, self absorbed and manipulative. They figure out your weaknesses and uses it to keep you in check. It is the lower level employees that make this place great. They start by xaring and then get disgusted and leave. Treat your employees better. Pay them more. Don't treat. Them like they are disposable. No upward mobilty here, because upper management won't leave. If I could give a minus star for management I would.
