I worked at Foresters Financial full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is the job for you if you want a long term "career." This is the job for you if you're ok with commission.

    Cons

You get a base salary plus commission during your training period then after that it's 100% commission. This is not your typical 9-5, WHICH NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE JOB DESCRIPTION. They expect you to be there for a few years until you can actually start making good money. Also, YOU HAVE TO GO TO YOUR CLIENT'S HOME, WHICH IS ALSO NOT INCLUDED IN THE JOB DESCRIPTION.

NEW/YOUNG GRADS, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A JOB RIGHT OUT OF COLLEGE, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.

    Pros

Flexible, paid training, great management family like environment. The place is awesome, managers make you feel at home in all ways.

    Cons

Long hours, very difficult job at the beginning. It is necessary to put the hours at the beginning. May be very stressful at start.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear with the hiring process

I worked at Foresters Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic co-workers - some of the friendliest, funniest people you'll meet. Also good schedule.

    Cons

I felt tremendously underpaid and under-utilized based on my skill set and licenses held, with no clear track to how to advance in the company. During my interview process, the person who would end up being my manager misled the earnings potential of the job, which was frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Tell people exactly what they have to do in order to get promoted. "Wait and hope" doesn't work for the 21st century workforce.
