              Cons

Everything from the management to the structure. Everything about the company's atmosphere and culture is comparable to high school. There is staunch favoritism and limited opportunity to advance if you are not willing to play the mental high school game. Salary is also the lowest I have ever experienced in all my years in retail.

If you are young and have patience this could be a short term job for you. Get ready to work long hours and in a fast pace environment which isn't worth the pay or the headache

                    Cons

If you want to be taken advantage of, over worked, under paid and work ridiculous amount of hours (ex.4pm to 3 am). This is the place for you. Most mangers hate their jobs as well because they are stressed out so they make everyone esles misrable too.

                        Pros

The coworkers I had were great and I honestly enjoyed the fast pace of working there. The only pros were staying busy and making some great friends in my coworkers.

                        Cons

The credit card sales were ridiculous. Your hours corresponded with credit card sales regardless of how busy the store was. We had to push credit on the floor, in the fitting rooms, at the door. It was actually kind of crazy. Somehow managers could nag about it constantly but also never get any credit card sign ups themselves. Shifts were scheduled weekly, meaning Sunday night the employees closing had to send out the schedules for the literal next day because management couldn’t even text us our schedules. There is no break room for employees. Managers get one though! There’s a small table set up in the storage areas surrounded by racks of product that you can sit in if you want. If you’re offered a head cashier position, it’s just more work with no raise so be cautious in taking it. Do not expect managers to have your back any time a customer is rude. They will bend over backwards to please people who scream at and berate you for following company procedures, however, if you don’t follow procedures expect management to write you up happily! Also don’t expect them to keep complaints private. If you are dealing with a problem with a coworker or another manager the managers WILL tell the person you complained about that you said something and will talk about it with each other as well. Favoritism is a huge issue in management as well. Speaking as someone who was a favorite, the difference in the way management treats employees they personally like (eg. employees they can talk trash about other employees with) and the employees they don’t is very obvious. There were rarely enough employees to maintain the store properly or to close it at the end of the night, because to satisfy one need, management would have to sacrifice the other. On weekdays it wasn’t much of an issue but on weekends and especially during the holiday season closing shifts could last until two or three in the morning when the store closes at ten. Closing shifts would be set as 4-12 but because midnight started a new day management would keep you there, and write you up if you had to leave. Working around school schedules was another thing that management could not seem to grasp. Time off asked for MONTHS in advance was not honored, despite being promised. Class schedules were not followed and all changes in availability took minimum a month to process. On the subject of closing though, our store was HUGE. Most night cashiers would close up the registers and surrounding areas then move into multiple “shops” and close them because of either a lack of floor associates, or an overwhelming mess. So much product is crammed into racks that customers would complain regularly about how difficult it was to shop. At the end of the night clothes would be strewn around the floors and sometimes couldn’t even be fit back onto racks because of how MUCH product there was. Product was also rotated almost daily and associates were expected to know where everything belonged despite rarely receiving store walk throughs or updates from management. Most shifts I would do store walks during my breaks to remap out where everything went. I don’t know how the fitting room associates could sort the go backs to be honest, they were incredible lol.

Hi! Looking for some advice regarding hiring processes. I completed 2 interviews with the company and they emailed to say they "want to put me forward for the job" and asked for references, passport, and for me to do a background check. I didn't hear anything for a week, so then emailed to check on my application status. They responded saying they would get back at the end of that week. Its been 2 weeks since. I emailed last week to ask for an update and have not received a response. Thoughts?

Got booted from my former position about 4 years ago, which I LOVED. I have the impression I was "kept" in sympathy. Now that I have my feet beneath me, I feel like I'm running in place. Over the past 2 years, I've probably applied for about 100 positions in other departments. True, a few were unlikely moonshots, but for the most part I didn't misrepresent myself. Am I the world's worst interviewer? Otherwise.. shouldn't I have been accepted elsewhere, by choice?

                      Administrative Assistant

I haven't worked since Jan. 2020 when my job as administrative assistant for the Hospitalist group was eliminated. I can't begin to count the number of applications submitted, interviews I've had, jobs that I was told were mine then they weren't, etc. Several jobs have fallen through or not panned out. I am not a job hopper and want to stay where I go. I have a zoom interview tomorrow for a front desk receptionist position at an oral surgeon's office. Any interview tips are appreciated.
