Not worth the money
Apr 7, 2014 - Sales Associate in Des Moines, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
My coworkers were very fun and enthusiastic. You have some say in the floorset being implemented. It is also very high-paced (which I personally enjoyed) and you're doing something different pretty much every day.
Cons
The pay was really bad and I ended up working there pretty much every weekend. Also, the breaks are really short and they aren't particularly understanding of conflict.

I had a horrible experience working here.
Jul 31, 2013 - Cashier in San Jose, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I enjoyed the company of my coworkers because most of us were around the same age and kind of in the same boat. We all got into working at Forever 21 because we were trying to transition to another stage in our lives whether it be a career change or school.
Cons
Management does not treat its employees well at all. I was belittled there and blamed for every little thing that went wrong. I was expected to pretty much be at the cash registers AND in the fitting rooms at the same time. They expect a ton of work out of you for very little pay and no appreciation whatsoever.

Pros
-fun people -easy promotions -frequently changing (so you never get bored)
Cons
-short breaks -unorganized management -had to work two different positions during promotion and was not compensated for it -company takes advantage of younger employees who aren't familiar with their rights as employees -low pay (seems fair until you actually start working there and realize that its not worth it)

Pros
I sadly have nothing positive to say about this company. Work for them at your own risk.
Cons
Bottom line driven only. Cut’s employee’s pay rates yearly with every “restructure”. Poor benefits and cuts a lot of employee’s benefits with their pay during these restructures. Absolutely no is training rolled out to stores with new restructures of store positions. Stores are left clueless and angry. Break policies are not per states guidelines and benefits the company and not the employee. A lot of hostility in store and from corporate visitors creates toxic environments. Terrible organization from the top down. NOT recommended. I really have nothing positive to say and that is sad.

Pros
I met some amazing people.
Cons
They promote from within which you would think is great but barely give you a pay raise due to this. The entire store was always a mess no matter what we did because they had you constantly pushing out clothing. There isn’t room for all of this product which is why the clothing ends up on the floor or tables a mess. There was also always more smalls then any other size which is why all items in my stores clearance were smalls. And we had an overflowing stock room of clearance that was all smalls. My store had no actual break room or office, it was just in the stock room that was always overflowing.

Like being in high school all over again..
Jun 5, 2012 - Sales Associate in Albuquerque, NMRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You get to wear cute clothes. You get a discount on the clothes. You get to look at all the stuff while you are working and can save things you want and buy them on your break or when you get off your shift.
Cons
The managers are young and play 'favorites' with employees that are their friends. The pay is very low and you get few hours so your check is always tiny. It might be okay for a high schooler but not for any one over 19. You have to do tedious and boring work and if you ask for help the other employees are rude and will talk badly about you. It's just like being in high school. Stuck up and rude employees who don't like each other.

A great experience as a first job
Mar 6, 2014 - Sales Associate in Brea, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Most sales associates are in their teens and early twenties so it is a great place to make friends. It gave me my first peek at the world of retail. The experience also made me appreciate any subsequent jobs I had because you are really busting your hump there.
Cons
This was my first job and it was physically tiring as I wasn't used to being on my feet walking around for hours and hours. The pay was minimum wage and the discount basically amounted to the CA state tax (10%). I remember staying past 1AM for some closing shifts because the store was so messy. I quit after a few weeks as did many others.

GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE
Feb 23, 2022 - Sales Associate in Burlington, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Making friends - Looking at clothes during work
Cons
- I was basically stuck doing the fitting room for two months and it was terrible, it's just walking back and forth putting people in rooms - The pay is terrible and you only get a 10% discount which is basically useless - Managers will show favoritism and give them the best jobs - Cashier lines will be extremely long and you won't get a break - They make you punch out for a 15 minute break - Sometimes we'd leave at like 2am from a 4pm starting shift

Hectic hours, low pay, stingy company
Mar 11, 2019 - Visual Merchandiser in Salinas, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Fast fashion. Gaining retail experience. Can be fun place if your coworkers are nice.
Cons
The company is worth multi millions and refuses to give pay increases and benefits to retail workers. There isn’t a good discount and the constantly cut hours. The turn over for employees in both upper management and in store is actually insane.

Pros
Not much except the fact that depending on what stores you may get flexibility to work around school schedule if your a student.
Cons
Asking for alot of work to get done in a short amount of time and pay is not that great.
