I worked at Formica full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

People are passionate about what they do, if they're where they want to be. Everyone is generally good to work with and easy to communicate to.

    Cons

Company seems to want to spend a lot of money in many areas including hot shot new hires instead of training and compensating current employees. Expect an endless list of priority one projects, difficult to manage family and work like at times, little to no advancement opportunities from within, management under values most of it's employees, management fails to solve reoccurring problems.

    Advice to Management

Offer more input, training, and opportunities for advancement. Offer flexible work schedule, opportunity to work from home. Remember...consistent little words of encouragement to employees goes a long way. You will earn their respect by letting them know how much you care if they succeed. Remember, you succeed when they do.

I worked at Formica full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some nice colleagues but nothing else positive to say.

    Cons

The place has little to no organisation, the management were up themselves and laughable with no respect. They have been losing money for 10 years, no capacity. You have to deal with a lot of irate customers with no one willing to take responsibility for any complaints. Nothing is done on merit, lots of people getting paid for years and years without economic results. The managers could not get a job anywhere else... in these days so stay there waiting for another owner to pay their wages.

    Advice to Management

If somebody will buy this business, I doubt it, get rid of most of the sales, marketing and customer services managers. Totally useless.
