    Advice to Management

I have been working at Forrester full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The majority of people is friendly and supportive, Forrester promotes a culture of collaboration and camaraderie. You will find that they are open to all ideas independently of your role in the company, therefore, since the beginning of your employment, you can add your two cents to the discussion if you have something worth saying. Life/work balance is quite good with some punctual peaks of
"too much work" from time to time. If you are curious and smart, I totally recommend this company.

    Cons

Long distances and time differences don't make things easy sometimes, it's not unheard of people from non-US offices feeling a bit disconnected from the HQ. Having said that, they are actually working hard to create more seamless communications between all offices. Some strategies and objectives that are tailored for the US are not fitting for EMEA and APAC.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and nourish the European offices, there is a lot of potential there.

I have been working at Forrester full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Surrounded by very intelligent and committed people. The clients are mostly senior leaders from interesting household names and there are pockets of great coaching and support. The benefits are good and whilst is can be a little quiet at times, the culture is generally fun.

    Cons

Lack of career progression in Europe and the personal development is sporadic and often ad hoc, if it happens at all. There is poor alignment between the different business units so day-to-day business relies heavily on personal relationships to bridge structural conflicts.

    Cons

I worked at Forrester full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people at Forrester are what make the company a fun, vibrant and generally good place to work. The pay is reasonable (good basic rubbish commission) therefore you are not hugely incentivised to over perform as an SDS.

    Cons

Forrester is a very U.S. centric company therefore growth in Europe is slow meaning a lack of career opportunities, also the marketing is targeted towards us market even though that is slowly getting better with localised marketing.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing for more support in Europe to help grow and retain best talent. Look to promote from within and create a more visual career plan with employees.

    Pros

    Growth, challenge, networking, client base

    Cons

Individual performance is diluted by the fact that goals are heavily team performance impacted, and the 'matrix' concept is a tremendous dis-incentive.,

    Advice to Management

Growth in the past 4 years has outpaced management's progress in evolving the resourcing and performance measurement criteria. The leadership needs to upgrade and update their thinking.

    Pros

An intellectually challenging work environment with lots of learning opportunities.
Great people to work with, Forrester employees tend to be really nice and friendly .

    Cons

No career development path, the initiatives in this space just don't work and there's no follow up on the review systems in place.

    Advice to Management

The bonus compensation system is demotivating for anyone other than analyst or a sales person.

Analyst who overperform on their advisory goal get compensated directly for this, sales gets a commission on all their deals, all other employees only get a bonus if the company performs according to plan without taking into account their personal performance.
