I have been working at Fort Bend ISD full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Secure positions and flexible days off.

    Cons

Management is poor in different areas. Rules are consistently broken and only apply to certain individuals. Raises are not given out very often at all. I will have worked here 3 years in this coming January and was told they do not have money. There's no advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Give training to Management regularly to keep them engaged on how to deal with situations and employees. Your hiring process takes way too long.

I worked at Fort Bend ISD full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fort Bend has some of the best teachers in Texas. The salary is very competitive and the schools are mostly high quality. The students are top notch as well.

    Cons

Fort Bend ISD could honor it's employees better. They tend to create too many administrative jobs and remove essential personnel at the campus level to balance their budget. They do not promote from within enough despite creating several talent pools. It is very difficult to move up in the organization because they hire from out of district often. If you want to advance your career, you most likely have to look outside of FBISD.

    Advice to Management

Remove all the hoops and unnecessary red tape to advance in FBISD. Develop the leaders and teachers you have rather than looking outside for leadership.
