I have been working at Fort Osage R1 School District full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working in a school you get holidays off and extended winter and spring breaks. Fort Osage is great school district with wonderful co-workers in all buildings.

    Cons

As a paraprofessional, you do not get paid in the summer. Only those who get salary pay get paid in the summer. It's hard to support yourself and/or your family when you don't get paid enough. Sometimes paraprofessionals are overlooked and not treated as equals to teachers.

I worked at Fort Osage R1 School District full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great leadership at Fire Prairie Upper Elementary School. Everyone is considered a member of the team.

    Cons

I really can't think of anything.

  3. "I loved working here as a substitute teacher! Fire Prairie and Osage Trail were my favorites."

    Pros

Overall the kids were sweet and loving anywhere. Buckner always had a bunch of huggers.

    Cons

Elm Grove has an interesting principal and I pity the soul that works with ANY grade level there.
