    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Good product, solid partner community, some good employee benefits like stock plan and health benefits. Company is in a high growth mode as it is positioned well in the security industry

    Cons

Very poor management, senior level has and continues to be a revolving door and very little career growth opportunities for such a growing company this is pathetic

    Advice to Management

Growth at any cost is not a good way to run a business for the long term. Management needs to put a focus on developing the talent they have in there employees

I worked at Fortinet (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    >30% YoY growth. Lot of potential. Lean processes, competitive spirit, and customer focused. Always something new to learn or build. Plenty of smart people. Moderate stability, if you're good at your job. You can make a positive difference usually.

    Cons

    >30% YoY growth attracts yes-men political types, driving away talent that wants to make a good product without so much red tape. Poor work-life balance. Growth makes it hard to hire and train fast enough, so senior staff bear a heavier load, yet outside hires are promoted above, making it a bad career & family move to stay. Promotion is a bit easier if you're an outside hire, discouraging loyalty. Some veterans are great; others a serious roadblock hindering the company and driving away talent that's sick of inertia and head games. Hit or miss team cohesion, and no team building budget to speak of. Stock options are a tax nightmare for many, not as good as cash bonus or pension.

    Advice to Management

Hire collaborative not competitive types to shift focus back to productivity instead of politics. Invest in team building and travel to improve communication. Slightly less aggressive dates would reduce burnout and conflict.

Better communication to companies being acquired, post-acquisition would help in minimizing loss of talent.
