I have been working at Fortinet full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Fortinet is committed to help transitioning and retired service members through their Fortinet Veterans Program.

    2. Excellent Healthcare coverage with the option of HSA. There is a program that gives you monetary incentive to have medical check-ups, providing free flu shots and more.

    3. Most days I leave my lunch in the fridge, office caters regularly. The FortiFamily here in Plano surprises each other with generous morning food of either Donuts, Bagels or Torchy's Tacos.

    4. FTNT PTO policy is unlimited but up to Management discretion.

    5. Hefty RSU or Stock options, along with having an ESSP program, 401k Matching and competitive/cooperative spiffs.

    6. FTNT dedicates an incredible amount of resources to training their employees.

    7. The Company invests in itself and the FortiFamily.

    Cons

401K Matching isn't as high as many companies of this size, but the benefits outweigh the negative.

    Advice to Management

    None at this time.

    I worked at Fortinet full-time

    Pros

The products are usually of great quality, and in their space they do great at what their top function is supposed to be...security effectiveness.

    Cons

Need to simplify and make the products be much much easier to manage, especially FortiManager, to be able to deploy security at large scale with a few clicks, perhaps based on templates.

    Advice to Management

Make UI experience the top priority of the company, especially when deploying at large scale, it is currently not nearly in par with other vendors, less secure solutions.
You can also invest in a formal on-boarding program. It should also be well structured.

    Pros

I enjoyed my time working for Fortinet and the Training Operations team. The company was supportive, I appreciated working with the team and was very impressed by the products Fortinet has.

    Cons

I only wish I had been a full time employee instead of a contractor.

I have been working at Fortinet full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They pay well, there is advancement opportunity, a flexible work schedule, and plenty of certification training opportunities. They are conveniently located next to Bush and the Dallas North Tollway. The Inside Sales folks are very helpful, professional, encouraging, and helpful.

    Cons

They need a bigger kitchen. There's a lot of construction nearby. It's planned for the next year according to the NTTA. They have some Millennials there, and this is their first or second job.T

    Advice to Management

You need an onsite Manager or Supervisor to oversee the Plano Business Development Department.
