I have been working at Fortna full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The associates are dedicated and hard-working.

    Cons

Depending upon what department you work in, managers are inexperienced, inconsistent and biased among their teams. Fortna as a whole is a global company with advanced technology with probably over 75% of their employees working remotely, however, they are biased and show favoritism with this aspect allowing some employees, even if they live close to an office to work from home while others are not allowed this... benefit and then on top of it, they expect the employees who are working in the office and have commute times on top of their normal hours, to work longer hours to accommodate those that are working in their homes with flexible working schedules.

    Advice to Management

Look at current research and get on board with the culture you portray. Employees who are given flexible work schedules and/or working from home flexibility are more apt to work more and do a better job and remain at a job longer. If you don't have employees you trust to do this, you should re-look at those employees. If you don't have managers that can manage a team remotely in this type of culture, you should... re-look at those managers. Usually these managers want to micro-manage their direct reports due to inexperience, lack of confidence, and feelings of intimidation.

I have been working at Fortna full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Challenging career. Personal and Professional Development, Growth and Mentorship. Rewarding. Work/Life Balance.

    Cons

Depending on the position, and what you prefer, there could be a lot of travel. The upside to the travel is you work from home when not on the road. And you get to collect all the hotel, airline and rental points

I have been working at Fortna full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    • Dedicated People who really want to make a difference. • Hardest working teams I've been around in my career. • Globally Capable Talent and projects outside of the US. • The ability to go as far as you want. If you want to work from home you can. If you want to be in an office you can. Great balance • Many changes over the past year. Some for better and some for worse though overall the changes that were... made have already shown alot of promise. • A better focus around sales efforts and really understanding what opportunities we should be focusing on. • Leaner and hungrier teams. There is a desire to do great work without the bloat which was around in the past.

    Cons

    • The industry is riddled with challenge and change at this time. • We could have been more honest on the business environment and reacted quicker.

    Advice to Management

We tend to focus on the negative too often. We need to highlight & embrace the good as well as to remember to not put band-aids on the bad. Fix them correctly and move on. I think this culture has been embraced in PSO where changes were made and made for the better. The atmosphere has less silo's than before. I also think the teams are working better together as the leads are embracing working together as one... team.

    Pros

Ability to work from home. Middle management is a great group of people who are now struggling to hold on to their jobs.

    Cons

A great many layoffs in 2017, with no warning. This is causing a hostile work environment. Upper management is top heavy and have no clear direction. There are no bonuses or raises forecasted for the coming year.

I have been working at Fortna full-time

    Pros

Fortna is a global company so you get to know people from all over the world in a great work environment, most of the people is goal focused so you don’t have to worry about being backstab There are different careers paths to take, you can work remotely from home or based at an office and you can have as little or as much travel as you want. You can own your time and work from home and decide how you want to do... your hours during the week (great for people with family) If the year results were good you can expect bonuses and raises, there are also plenty of extra benefits (for example, wellness reimbursements, recognition awards or even time off prizes)

    Cons

They seem to change the organizational every month which is not sustainable at long term and is hard to see the benefit of the change because of the same reason Employee morale is low thanks to 3 layoff batches during the past year

    Advice to Management

We need better leaders at the top levels, ones that are goal focused, care about the company as well as the people and make sure things happen within a reasonable time.

    I worked at Fortna full-time

    Pros

Most people there are friendly and easy to work with. Ability to work from home.

    Cons

Very top heavy and like to micromanage. Hire you for your experience and knowledge and then tell you what to do instead of listening to what needs to be done. Unrealistic goals and timelines and not enough resources or budget to achieve. Your not allowed to have an opinion other than theirs or your labeled. Morale is at all time low.

    Advice to Management

Trust the people you hire and stop micromanaging. Don't just hire Yes men, hire and retain individuals that aren't looking to keep things as they are but to move the company where it needs to be CORRECTLY to be able to handle the global market it's trying to break into. Your strategic moves are having a negative impact. Dont just focus on one area. Your foundation is crumbling and will not be able support the... efforts you have been relocating money too.

I have been working at Fortna full-time for less than a year

    Pros

IT group is among the best I've seen. Opportunity to work from home. Company is in growth mode which creates lots of job opportunities.

    Cons

Good old boys culture. Top-heavy management. Internal systems are being updated, which is good, however, employees who have been with the company for several years are resistant to moving away from manual processes and are resistant to change. Departments do not work well or communicate well with each other. Lack of accountability.

    Advice to Management

Communication and cooperation between internal departments is crucial to reach company goals. Management needs to hold Associates accountable and stress to them the importance of change needed in order to reach company goals.

    I worked at Fortna

    Pros

good salary, ability to work from home

    Cons

top heavy management, too many layers. Departments do not communicate well. Work from home isn't always good for the business and hinders cross-departmental communication.

    Advice to Management

Cut the layers of management, get lean. Let the guys who know what they're doing do it and teach.

I have been working at Fortna full-time

    Pros

Excellent compensation. Work from home options.

    Cons

Hard to tell who is actually in charge of a project. There are multiple levels of project management and a clear distinction of who is in charge of what has not been established.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate project management into a single group for the sake of everyone involved in projects.
