I worked at Fortress Investment Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great brand name, smart people, room for growth within the firm.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be tough. The company is very active in their respective businesses. Turnover can be high in some industries and verticals.

    Advice to Management

Integration between businesses. Collaboration between businesses-sometimes the work is redundant. Logistical work can take a lot of time, sometimes not necessary.

    Pros

Good company to intern for because it is a great learning experience and because they are one of the top hedgefunds. You will learn a lot.

    Cons

Sometime I would just sit there because I didn't have work to do. But I think that is the case for most intern jobs.

    Advice to Management

It would be awesome if there were more projects for the interns to work on. But nonetheless it was a good opportunity.

I have been working at Fortress Investment Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I learned a lot and very fortunate to have been working with some of my colleagues. There is a very tight knit group and easy to get a long with most. Ask for more work or changes or you will get stuck.

    Cons

The group is very large and no place to move up or internally. The supervisors need to take courses in management.

I worked at Fortress Investment Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It had a great environment. The traders were very approachable and helped with any concerns. There were many small projects that were ad hoc that will help you learn different aspect of trading.

    Cons

The feedback was not enough, mostly because the manager was non-attentive. I ended up learning more from talking with the traders than the work itself.

    Advice to Management

Need a more structured environment with more feedback. The manager needed to give more attention and provide opportunities to talk face-to-face.
