    Pros

    Smart innovative and knowledgeable colleagues
    Passionate and committed clients
Decent leave policy including parental leave
Great coworkers, for the most part

    Cons

Drying up of new work makes future uncertain for a company of this size
Numerous layoffs and turnover in the past year
    Underpaid and overworked staff
Growing portfolio of typical Beltway clients and contracts that don't share Forum One values
Constant push to grow grow grow has made the company lose its identity and brand
    Unsustainable hours
Toxic and domineering personalities (loudest voice in the room wins)
    Flailing project management practices
Lack of mentoring and professional development
    Low staff morale
A core group of clicky and cultish veteran staff makes new hires feel overwhelmed and unwelcome and confused
Dysfunctional relationships between various leadership figures results in bizarre communications, policies, and decisions
A semblance of transparency despite growing backroom deals and inconsistent decision-making
Continual loss of the Forum One culture and identity that once made this place worth working for

I worked at Forum One full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Generous benefits
    - Professional HR leadership
    - Smart colleagues
    - Great learning opportunities
    - Interesting project work
    - Really great clients

    Cons

    - Leadership always need someone to blame for their own failures
    - Hostile, at times threatening, work environment
    - Clients are allowed to be rude and offensive to staff
    - Leadership often uses intimidation to motivate staff
    - Clients are always right even when they are wrong
    - Poor decision-making about promotions, which is often based on forcefulness and not skill

    Advice to Management

Seriously consider replacing current leadership with professionals who understand the business and use encouragement, empathy, honesty, and long-term vision to lead instead of using intimidation, pettiness, manipulation, and short-sightedness for personal gain.

    Pros

    • The benefits are the best I've seen at any company, small or large.
    • Works on some interesting projects.

    Cons

    • The company is run by project managers who do not know how to manage client expectations.
    • Management is poor at communicating important information to staff.

    Pros

The basic "how you treat people" is very good. Work/life expectations are reasonable, though worsening.

    Cons

Quite frankly, the management doesn't value project management, nor can they come to a decision and execute on it.

    Advice to Management

When you can't follow your own mandates, you shouldn't be surprised when no one takes them seriously.
