I worked at Forward Air as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Brand name. Newer equipment. Electronic logs. Training is good. Good locations(except ohio). Lots and lots of Joe Dirts(whites with mullets). It's difficult, I've struggled to find ANYTHING positive here.

    Cons

The culture, the people, the runs, the customer base, the dispatchers, the culture, culture, culture, culture, culture, culture, culture, culture, did I mention the culture SUCKS!?

    Advice to Management

You will fail. Maybe not today, not tomorrow, but, this company under current staff will fail. Guessing the CEO is part of the issue....the fish stinks from the head down...ciao!

I worked at Forward Air full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Once you are hired in, you can pretty much do whatever with no work in mind. It was equal to a McDonald's play place for 3 year olds. Most managers didn't care because they hated their job as well. They only cared if their butt was on the line for one of their employees actions.

    Cons

Overworked, shaved paystubs/hours, little to NO advancement opportunities and the salary was horrible compared to industry.

    Advice to Management

No advice - they are a turn and burn company and will admit it and could care less of their reputation, as one manager once said, "we will find plenty of people to work for us, people need jobs these days".

I have been working at Forward Air full-time

    Pros

    Benifits are good. Low cost.

    Cons

Just recently, as of the 5th of July. All company hourly drivers are no longer being paid overtime, which is required by federal and state law. I smell a class action lawsuit. Stay away from this company.

    Advice to Management

Learn the labor laws. You won't get away with this.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Growing company. Decent pay and overtime is available. Apparently you can fart if you desire and smack your co-workers in the back of the head. Plus, you are encouraged to ignore phone calls.

    Cons

They do not invest in employees. The drivers, who are the backbone of the company, are treated like dirt. You are a number, not a name, and be ready to be treated worse if you speak up or try to speak to the powers that be for any reason. You are tool, not "part" of a company.

    Advice to Management

    Why would you want to.

    Pros

DROP AND HOOK AT TERMINALS DOES NOT HAVE TO GO TO CUSTOMERS

    Cons

We came to Forward Air as Team Owner Operators We talk to company Recruiters they said about 5000 to 6000 miles per week with good home time policy but a lot of times we have to sit at terminals for waiting on Freight and not getting enough miles when we call Dispatchers they said doesn't have freight for Long Haul because Team Drivers appreciate Long Hauls well I think it's a wastage of time and we are planning to leave Forward Air.Anybody want to come on board with Forward Air,please think twice.

    Advice to Management

Get some good Freight Lane Planners and Dispatchers who understand Drivers What they want?Don't Promise Team Owner Owner Operators which is not Realistic.Don't make fake promises. Some of your trailers are very bad.
