I worked at Foster's Freeze part-time (More than a year)

Lunches with coworkers, free food while working, very loving manager

    Cons

No real breaks, less than most minimum wage

    Advice to Management

    better training

  2. "A good first job – just don't stay too long"

I worked at Foster's Freeze part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relatively generous about giving leftover food to employees
    Competent management
    Friendly co-workers

    Cons

Management quality varies from location to location
    No upward mobility
    Sexism in promotional practices

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees more, and reward those who are doing good work. When I worked here, one girl had been working there for 7 years, she essentially ran the store, and she earned just as much as anyone else who worked there. She ended up leaving because the job offered her no prospects.

    I worked at Foster's Freeze part-time

    Pros

Flexible with scheduling, fun to make all the dessert items, fun work environment without all the gossip that goes on.

    Cons

The manager/owner of the franchise does not give positive feedback, rather yells at you for mistakes you do. All my years working for this person 2-3 times a year has said "good job". No room for career growth either. Another negative is hiring 16 year old girls, they always create gossip and drama that disrupts the work environment.

    Advice to Management

Hope that the owner will encourage room for feedback to improve employee training.

    Pros

•really good pay if you do your job well
    •good training
•nice coworkers (met my long term boyfriend here)
    •room for promotion
    •its an indoor job
•meal discount (50% during work & 25% right out of work)
    •overtime was given

    Cons

•managers and owners were very disorganized and strict
    •schedules were hectic
•there are no healthy alternatives in food options
•floors were very slippery, even with non slip shoes on
•Extreme pressure while being a fountain girl and cook during a rush

    Advice to Management

Be kinder to your employees, especially if they are in the training process. Make sure that all food is cooked thoroughly (I had raw chicken strips when I worked there), and find a system where schedules dont interfere with enough sleep (had a few scheduled days where I had to come in the next morning, only to get 3 hours of sleep due to closing the night before).

I worked at Foster's Freeze part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Simple enough operation of fast food restaurant that served good tasting food. Old time customers kept the jobsite interesting.

    Cons

Not many cons, unless you count the dead-endness of fast food work in general. Much better experience than working the more popular chains like McD's.

    Pros

All of my coworkers are very friendly. We're pretty much a family there. Also, it's a great experience in learning how to work under pressure. My multi tasking skills are amazing now.

    Cons

Sometimes, when the store gets busy, everyone is under a lot of pressure, especially when the managers are there, but the managers are great other than the brief moments of scariness

I worked at Foster's Freeze part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only good thing about working here was the lovely family's and senior citizens that came in on a Daily basis.

    Cons

Wasn't ever paid on time, no pay stubs, very unprofessional and corrupt company. They lied to costumers on many occasions to save themselves money and the management there is horrible. This company and the people in ownership of it do not care for any of their costumers or even their workers. They took advantage of me and many other works and broke tons of laws while doing it. I will be reporting them to WC

    Advice to Management

I wasn't even paid on time, I wasn't give a pay roll sheet, i was only ever given a 10 minute break even after working for 6 hours. Very very corrupt place
