    Pros

The overall mission of the company is very commendable, and many of the employees take a lot of pride in the work they are doing. There is advancement opportunity within the company, and its easy to feel like part of a family among your co-workers.

    Cons

Low pay for hard work - especially for entry level positions. Promotion within is great - except sometimes positions are given to those that are under qualified.

I have been working at Four Oaks of Iowa full-time

    Pros

good beginning training for tf-cbt and emdr this year - first time they've paid for training and supplies though. hired a consultant who does monthly supervision.clients can be longer-term.

    Cons

big quotas. raises stink. paperwork. want you to do family skill instead of therapy because magellan pays more for it. clients are aggressive A LOT. a lot of families don't have the resources to attend family sessions and telehealth isn't statewide. psychiatrist doesn't work with therapists and doesn't attend weekly team meetings to know clients. supervision is only for etp clients.lots of turnover - most therapists plan to leave as soon as they get licensure.

    Advice to Management

make ma lisw or lmhc a requirement for all program director and above jobs so they understand therapy and treatment needs. listen to therapists complaints and fix the problems.

Former Employee - Family Support Worker in Cedar Rapids, IA
    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Opens your eyes to the social services in the area.
If you want to be a babysitter for parents and a taxi for their kids you might like this job.

    Cons

    Lack of support from supervisors
    Rude and unprofessional supervisors
When I asked for support on what to do for one family I was instructed that the mother was a druggie always would be there was nothing I could do and to just supervise the visits because she was never going to get her kids back.

    Advice to Management

Please hire some managers who actually care about their employees and the people they serve. I know there is a high turnover for this position, please look at the supervisors to find your reason why.
