    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Fox Chase Cancer Center part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working at Fox Chase has been a pleasure, the environment is welcoming, I really enjoy helping the people. Its close to where I live so I don't have to worry abut transportation. Overall its a great experience.

    Cons

Unfortunately the hours I work are at night and I am not able to be with my children. Other then the hours everything else is fine.

    Advice to Management

My advice is for them to be more open minded and understand everyone has a different method of learning and understanding. There are different people from different cultures that work there and some need more time to adapt more then others. Being a leader means working with everyone and making sure they are comfortable in their workplace.

I have been working at Fox Chase Cancer Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It definitely doesn't feel like your typical big city hospital environment. It's quiet and more relaxed. I work in a non-clinical setting, and I'm able to get through my workload without feeling stressed or rushed.

    Cons

That being said, it is VERY outdated. I know the majority of the money is going towards research, which I understand, but the hospital itself is falling apart. Please please please stop playing 1960s music in the cafeteria. A younger management team is greatly needed to shake things up. Lacking a mobile environment (work from home is frowned upon - not sure why) and overall just seems very antiquated.

    Advice to Management

Please ask your younger staff to contribute more. There are so many things we could do here for not a lot of money that would make a huge impact.
