    Negative Outlook

I worked at Fox River Mills full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Make great socks, but no longer a great value. They have no original or creative thought. The company looks at other companies' socks and simply designs the same thing. One example of this is the new Peak Sport - perfectly borrowed from Thorlo. Another is the Peak Outdoor Line - almost identical to Smartwool.

    Cons

Disfunctional and they no longer have any clue about the sock market - or for that matter the competition. Company has been passed up long ago in quality, machinery, sourcing, innovation, marketing and sales. The owners are dishonest, have very little leadership or motivational skills. They simply are not to be trusted. They will promise the world and the following month will deny they made any promises. These people live in a dream world. You might say to yourself, it cannot be that bad - but it is - do not go to work here!!!!!! Unemployment is better. These people sit on a high perch and everyone else is just serving at their pleasure. Every department is in need of total change. I'm not just a disgruntled employee but speak frequently with people in the plant who hate their job. Osage is a small town and there are not many jobs - so people grind it out.

    Advice to Management

The Ownership does not allow people to improve or grow the business. It is a top down approach and they are the ones who cannot get out of their own way.

I worked at Fox River Mills full-time

    Pros

Very few positives to look for other than a regular pay check and the low cost of living in a very rural community

    Cons

Culture is one of dishonesty and mistrust, which is created and fueled by the owners. Add on top of this the consistently disrespectful treatment of employees and you do not have a very positive envirionment

    Advice to Management

Be open and honest about everything. Walk in the shoes of your employees, if only for a day.
