I worked at Fractal Analytics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good clients, good work. Daily job is intellectually stimulating.

    Cons

Overseas Human Resources department is highly under-employed. The employees don't come from a professional environment and hence don't have basic courtesies. Even folks higher up in the company, are not professional. Late for interviews, no show during interviews, set a meeting and never show up without apologies.

    Advice to Management

If you are a consulting company, you absolutely CANNOT manage to not pay attention to people management within your own company. Hire more, train more.

I worked at Fractal Analytics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Definitely in a good space - Data Analytics; Work with some great clients

    Cons

0 employee loyalty. My manager was managing 15+ people. No wonder he never replied to my emails or calls or texts. Never ever acknowledged the fact that he didn't care. This of course was 2 weeks after I joined. It's a classic Indian company - Lack of ethics and professionalism.
Have to work 12-15 hours a day with meeting at odd hours

    Advice to Management

Care for your employees and respect them and they'll work harder for you.

I worked at Fractal Analytics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Culture is open, usually do not take any work just in order to expand

    Cons

Lead determines how the team culture is, so can easily deviate from how company wants to function.

    Advice to Management

Need to be client centric but not at the cost of your own image/employees. This advice can apply to a ton of companies in general.

I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time

    Pros

Fractal has outstanding people, both in the USA and offshore locations. This talent will only grow, enabling Fractal to stay relevant and grow in the analytics space. There is a true entrepreneurial feel and excitement within the company.

    Cons

Having originated in India, there is an offshore-centric vibe and work culture that exists at the company. Overcoming this will help Fractal grow even further.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Fractal Analytics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Mostly native Indian consultants and managers, so no racism like in US white dominated firms
    - Good base in Mumbai
    - A few good people on a personal level.
    - Can speak Hindi on the job with no issues

    Cons

    - Salary is below par
-The turnover is very high because middle managers mistreat staff
-The data scientists and analytics consultant do not know fundamental data science
    - They use spreadsheet learnings from business school and don't know how to code
    - Human Resources is very dishonest
    - The teams cannot explain any of the statistics behind the models
    - The company has no real talent so it is switching to software products that won't sell in US market. They have no talent to compete.

    Advice to Management

Changes to middle management are needed
