I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time

    Pros

Fractal has outstanding people, both in the USA and offshore locations. This talent will only grow, enabling Fractal to stay relevant and grow in the analytics space. There is a true entrepreneurial feel and excitement within the company.

    Cons

Having originated in India, there is an offshore-centric vibe and work culture that exists at the company. Overcoming this will help Fractal grow even further.

I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Energetic group that loves problem solving. Very high client satisfaction - NPS 50+ Clients are enthusiastic supporters and it's heart-warming to see team mate praises in testimonials (on website). Clients and Fractalites appreciate our people-centric culture (freedom, flexibility, accountability), and mix of products/custom services. Fast growing and strong future. Highly ethical and transparent.

    Cons

Collaborating across multiple time zones - working both early and late. Millennials don't have enough experience to fully appreciate how amazing the progressive culture really is. A small proportion complain without understanding the big picture business context (which goes against our people principles of putting clients, Fractal, and team ahead of self-interest).

    Advice to Management

Simplify decision process to increase speed

    4. Offshore team not that good and throw ideas which are not required before doing what client has asked for.

    Advice to Management

    Fix US HR team.
    Have sesible management.
Train offshore in analytics and have them teach soft skills.
    Trust your onsites.

    Advice to Management

Disclaimer: My comments are about the US operation and work experience.
Being an analytics firm, I don't have to make any advice except this one. Just review the comments in glass door so far, most of them are talking about the same issues of senior management. Please see if your AD's & D's are skilled enough to manage highly skilled people? Don’t confuse the roles between a sales guy and Manager. Let’s just technical manager manage the technical guy. Let me give an example about what is that happening currently.
Imagine if a patient has been admitted to the hospital to have his open heart surgery. The patient made the hospital choice because to its past reputation and skilled doctors. However off late the hospital management made a decision that their doctors need to report to a Medical Sales Representative and need to perform all their surgeries under the guidance of their new supervisor. Assume what will be outcome.
- No matter what, the Patient will be died (Patient -> Client)
- Bulldozing the morale of highly technical doctors (Doctors -> Analyst/Employees)
       - Spoiling the reputation of the hospital (Hospital -> Fractal)
May be a bad example, but I’m trying to highlight the underlying issue here. I should be honest, there are few good technically sound managers here which I have seen and hear from many but you should be really lucky enough to work with them as these “Medical reps” never allows you to move out. The same story has been told again and again but there should be some courageous decision that needs to be taken by our beloved CEO. I would like to finish my comment with a great quote from the great leader “Napoleon Bonaparte”
"If you build an army of 100 lions and their leader is a dog in any fight the lions will die like a dog But if you build an army of 100 dogs and their leader is a lion all dogs will fight like a lion"

    Pros

Good exposure to work and good amount of team work. Ethical environment. Focused on values/integrity

    Cons

Short sighted top management, every year a new experiment is done proving that the older one failed. Nepotism. Employees who know the right people are favored. Inefficient enabling functions. They move employees to US without any guidelines. US policies are not at all employee-centric. No firing policy. People screwing up projects/not performing well are sitting at the top levels.

    Advice to Management

Need to turn the flush on, once in a while

    Cons

    WORST HR

    No process

    Advice to Management

No point in advising the management

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

There is not a single experience that I would categorize as "pro" because the company has too, too many shortcomings.

    Cons

Qualifications and conduct of top level managers isn't questioned. Work-life balance is only focused on Work. Support staff is inexperienced and undependable. Ignore mismatch between employee qualifications/capability with roles.

I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People Principles is a great concept if followed to the letter.
A lot of trust and independence is given to the employees to chart their own career path
Some folks are really passionate to make a difference
Senior folks are always ready to hear your ideas
The onus is on the employees to take ownership and bring out innovations in whatever work they are doing.

    Cons

Compensation is below par as compared to the industry standards.I recently got promoted but got a very meagre hike which was very demotivating.
No support for any education program.I tried to get a sponsorship for my part time Masters which would have added tremendous value to company but the answer I got was that we don't have any policy yet and we are still figuring out.So even if I want to learn and add value to the company, they don't or can't enable that for me.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing a good job but could do better.
Compensation and growth of employees need to be looked at.
