I worked at Fragomen Worldwide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Colleagues are extremely welcoming and nice. Everyone working outside administration seems to enjoy their jobs. Free food.

    Cons

Management set unrealistic expectations that only robots can accomplish. Those who working legal administration are the first ones in the office and the last ones to leave. The email and database systems are extremely outdated and inefficient. The work becomes monotonous very quickly. Most people in the office are young because the firm rotates through many employees. It seems that people are either underpaid or not incentivized to stay longterm with the firm.

I worked at Fragomen Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work closely with attorneys. A lot of free food.

    Cons

Fragomen is a corporate nightmare. They hire and abuse many temps for paralegals, who are placed under inexperienced contract attorneys with high caseloads. Work is mindumbingly boring and repetitive. Things get overlooked, forgotten, and filed incorrectly. Partners are insanely out of touch with inner workings of their company.

    Advice to Management

    Pay employees better.
Invest in long-term hires and train them well.

I have been working at Fragomen Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people are nice to work with, though it depends on your team. They do have a fridge full of cold drinks, and once a year they pretend to care and let us volunteer at local organizations. Periodically there is pro bono work, but that's mostly for the attorneys (who are required to fulfill a certain number of pro bono hours a year) because pro bono work cuts into your weekly billing requirements.

    Cons

Fragomen consistently undervalues qualitative factors and it's all about quantity and billing over quality. I can't stress that enough - Fragomen is about quantity and not quality. You will have billing minimums.

There is also zero sense of community, partially because the company doesn't care about that, and partially because they hire a lot of contract people, so their is a lot of turnover. But really, it's mostly because everyone around you is overworked and tired.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring so many temps and start investing in training people. We waste a lot of time training people who are let go after 90 days.

    Pros

pop-up bars, we used to be allowed to go to
free snacks a few days a week

    Cons

there is an overwhelming amount of work for an enormous client without the man power to accommodate it all.
    working overtime is almost expected
there is an extremely negative atmosphere and i would not recommend working there
the work is understatedly boring and robotic like for almost all positions

    Pros

Experiences will vary based on office/team – mine has been great. No micromanagement. Open door policy and general collaborative culture. Smart colleagues.

    Cons

Technology is quite outdated and clunky despite apparent ongoing efforts. Office tends to feel a little indifferent with everyone plugged into headphones. Given the size of the firm it’s sometimes hard to figure out who at HQ or in other offices to contact about an issue. Interoffice communication could be improved to make sure everyone is on the same page. Internal resources are great but not easiest to find/use.

    Advice to Management

Make the internal process to hire good paralegals easier, attracting talent is hard enough.
