Working with entrepreneurs and scaling businesses is exciting and fulfilling work. Helping companies grow and expand their brand through franchising is truly an amazing experience to be a part of.

Working with emerging brands from so many different industries can be challenging. Every client needs individual support and attention, so you really need to be invested into their success.

Pros

FMS allows you to be on the ground floor with burgeoning franchise systems and develop a lot of experience in just about every field imaginable. The company has a tremendously supportive culture and is run by a very active owner who is extremely hard working.

Cons

As with any consulting job, client flow has it ups and downs so you can go from chasing down clients to being up to your neck with deadlines for people wanting to start selling. Clients can sometimes be unreasonable, non-responsive, disorganized but it's all part of helping them get their house in order to effectively franchise their system. As an operations consultant you get to see the true inner workings of small mom-and-pops to exponentially growing concepts with heavily experienced executive teams.

Franchise Marketing Systems is an amazing place to work! I worked for a large international company listed on the DOW for 10 years…I could not have asked for a more welcome, timely change. The leadership team as well as the entire team are extremely knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and act as one big family. The number one goal is to take care of, and to work extremely hard for the clients on a daily basis. You will be challenged, and rewarded for all your handwork and success. If you love meeting new people, have an entrepreneurial spirit, love learning about different businesses, models, industries, etc…then FMS is a great opportunity.

I have been with Franchise Marketing Systems for three years and it is a wonderful job and work environment. It allows me great freedom and while it is a job for self starters, that is me and it has allowed me to have a flexible work schedule and get everything done efficiently and effectively. I have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of clients, keeping my design work fresh and changing, and keeping my day to day interesting as I meet and talk with new business owners every day! Your ideas are heard and your expertise is trusted- its really great!

If you're interested in entrepreneurship, this is a great experience! You get to learn how small businesses develop, grow, market, and differentiate themselves in a variety of industries. Senior management is incredibly encouraging and is genuinely concerned with your career growth.

Cons

There is a lot of interaction with clients every day and through every process (so it can be draining on some days). However!--it is also what sets this firm apart from others in the industry because if I were a business owner, I would appreciate the transparency, clarity, and feedback at every step of the process. I would absolutely continue to do business with them.

Pros

If you are customer centered this is the place for you to work Lots and lots of happy customers that have received a great value of their services. Clients count on our guidance our knowledge and advice. Politic free zone, we work together as a team, there is no "I" in team.

Cons

We work lots of hours and work hard for our partners and clients. There is weekend travel and occasionally evening hours required. We are tight knit and have a contingent workflow. Falling behind is not acceptable, so there can be a bit of stress.

FMS has a great company culture. Every single employee really loves what they do and the passion behind the team really instills an environment of creativity. It's a fast paced environment and everyone is ready to move forward quickly! The flexibility offered to each of us is amazing and truly appreciated.

Can't say there are any cons, except it may be too quick of a pace for those who prefer to work slowly.

Working for Chris and Alan as well as the rest of the team has been absolutely phenomenal. Everyone is here to help and looks out for the good of the company as a team. Looking forward to sticking around as long as they'll have me. I really feel like I found a place that I truly fit in!

No really a con, but if you are not prepared it can be fast-paced so make sure to ALWAYS BE SELLING!
