I worked at Franciscan University of Steubenville (More than a year)

    Pros

A great way to learn about media, how the conferences work, gain some good experience to put on the resume. Bosses were very nice and friendly.

    Cons

There wasn't much organization in my department.

I worked at Franciscan University of Steubenville full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Remuneration was good paid for grad school. Atmosphere is excellent

    Cons

Lost my job out of the blue to a priest (shouldn't they be in a parish). What's the point of educating laity if the Univ preferentially hires clergy / religious unnecessarily.

    Advice to Management

Hire and promote the best qualified and not just your friends.

I worked at Franciscan University of Steubenville part-time

    Pros

I was able to use my financial skills to help coordinate efforts with all of the clubs and meet many people through my position.

    Cons

At times it was difficult to effectively help club presidents between work and classes. However, the challenge was always welcome.

I worked at Franciscan University of Steubenville part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working at the Switchboard for FUS was a great opportunity. We were able work around our school schedules, work with friends, and able to work on homework and study as long as we were able to answer phones and help people coming to the desk first.

    Cons

    Not many. Great college job!

I worked at Franciscan University of Steubenville part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were interesting projects to work on and everybody was excited by the work we were doing, at least in our department.

    Cons

The pay was, for the work, horrible. People claim the mission makes up for the pay, but, frankly, being unable to live on the pay in no way is helped by doing good. Full time is only 35 hours, so the relation of hourly pay to actual take home pay is worse than you would expect.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to pay better. Period. No amount of 'mission' can make up for the stress of trying to live and pay loans, even if people think it can.
