I worked at Frank & Oak full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great location, customers and events. Hours of operation.

    Cons

They don't take care of their employees. They remove them off of the schedule w/o them knowing, they also dont submit your hours to payroll. Youre working for nothing. Management doesnt even do the bare minimum.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your team!!

    Pros

Great communication, good laughs, great clothes. Great POS System that is very user friendly and provides us with a smooth transaction process

    Cons

Small company, disorganized at times. Lots of work, not enough staff. Management has to carry a huge load on their shoulders. But its worth it

    Advice to Management

    Keep growing, keep inspiring

I have been working at Frank & Oak part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great sense of community, great discount, monthly events, 50$ monthly store-credit allowance

    Cons

Management is disorganized and advancement is virtually impossible

    Advice to Management

Management should promote from within, and find ways to incentivize performance

I worked at Frank & Oak full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Some colleagues are excellent people on individual basis.
    - Occasional fun events for the office.
    - Store credits given to employees are a nice perk.

    Cons

    - Severe lack of organization, brand alignment, cohesive direction and upper management is dysfunctional and inconsistent.
    - Constantly changing platforms and customer UX is confusing.
    - Way too many sales (often poorly organized and promoted) and resultant dilution of the brand.
    - Employees are not paid enough. Unnecessary evasiveness about promotions, raises, and competitive pay. People are frequently given promotions in terms of added responsibilities and duties but not the title, mentorship, acknowledgement, or appropriate salary.
    - Lack of clarity on manufacturing standards and processes. They are happy not to correct any misguided assumptions from customer base that the clothing is locally (Montreal) made.
    - Pay your distributors and collaborators. It's embarrassing.

    Advice to Management

    - Get organized.
    - Hire talented people, but also promote from within and hone the many talents who are eager to work for you in new and different ways.
    - Diversify.
    - Show some loyalty: pay your people well and stop hiring and firing on rapid rotation.
    - Stop. Having. So. Many. Sales. It reeks of desperation.

    Pros

Dedicated colleagues who care about the products.
    Work hard, plays harder.
    Breakfast on Mondays.
    Fatboys.

    Cons

Turnover of employee is high every Q1.
    High pressure environment.
    No AC in the summer.
Bugs on all platforms (web, ops, retail).

    Advice to Management

Execution is key. Customer trust is easier to lose online than in person, so if the execution isn't near-perfect, it's much harder to gain them back as returning customers.

Screwing people over affects long-term results.

    Pros

Dynamic, young and friendly team. You are given opportunities to go beyond your role. They allow you to try different hats on and your voice is heard.

    Cons

Upper management changes priorities often and does not communicate changes; projects get delivered half-baked. High stress environment; company strategy is unclear.

    Advice to Management

Communicate and stick to your plans.
