    I worked at Frankie & Benny's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The floor staff tend to pull together (this can vary on restaurant) but generally everyone understands how much pressure is placed on waiters so helps each other out. Money can be good depending on tips

    Cons

I honestly don't know where to start... -TIME OFF - When booking time off work you never knew whether you would get it or not. This is understandable as it is just a request but you would find some staff that hadn't requested it off would have it off instead, as though management had not taken into consideration who had requested it off. For example, I requested my graduation ceremony off and was instead rota'd in as...

    I worked at Frankie & Benny's full-time for less than a year

    Pros

When it was quiet it was a nice atmosphere You get free food on the lunch menu (if they actually give you breaks) The tips are really good - but I've had my tips stolen by another waitress twice which wasn't very good.

    Cons

-I worked there from August to October and had one break. One break. That's straight up illegal. I once asked for a break and was refused. - I asked to get some free food from the lunch menu to eat on a break, I was refused both the break and the free food. I only had free food 3 times. Once during online training, once during the one break I had and lastly when I asked for it to take home after a shift. -little sympathy...

    Advice to Management

The staff talk, when you are swearing about the bartender we always told them ahaha! Also - it genuinely is illegal to not give breaks out when you're working long shifts. Hire more staff. Take care of your staff and they won't be quitting left right and centre.

    I worked at Frankie & Benny's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good tips, average about £30 per day, depends on the busy times/weekends Free food on breaks Best teammates 28 days holidays Overall good job experience

    Cons

Only one break a day, even if you work 12 hours Standing all day on foot Long working hours Changing management team Heavy uniform :D thats probably sounds weird, but when you have to wear apron, vest, carry hand till, and full 'box' of money you feel like with armor :D

    Advice to Management

Change the breaks time, allow staff to eat more than once when working long hours

    I worked at Frankie & Benny's part-time

    Pros

    - 33% discount - Meal from the lunch menu if worked over 6 hours. - Meeting new customers everyday - Stimulating job

    Cons

    - Poor management e.g. Rota changing regularly (don't make any weekend plans). - Turning up to your shift for them to tell you they don't need you after an hour - Poor pay considering the work and effort you put it in - Managers never praise you - Part time job taking over my life, not being able to focus on anything else because of the exhaustion and stress it causes

    Advice to Management

Advice would be appreciate the work what your co-workers carry out more often.

I have been working at Frankie & Benny's

    Pros

You get to keep all your tips without having to share them out with other employees. you can have a free meal on shift from the lunch menu, Good inscentives.

    Cons

Minimum wage, all your wages are virtually tips. Management can be quite petty. If someone does a runner on one of your tables without paying then you have to pay for them! Some chefs will only cook you food off the kids menu, which is not enough on an 11 hour shift!

    Advice to Management

Be a bit more respectful to employees. Some managers will spend a lot of time in the office rather than helping out employees. Only managers can apply discounts which is very frustrating as when it is busy you do not have time to search for a manager when at least 10+ tables have discounts!

    I worked at Frankie & Benny's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I worked with some lovely people, and generally the customers were fab. I also took part in fundraising which was fun, got to dress up a lot for charity events, generally a nice environment. Loads of shifts available at Christmas. Rewards, such as employee of the month. Full training is also provided, but is much easier if you join a brand new branch. Chance of promotion, I know a guy who I worked with back then is now...

    Cons

Most of the management staff were nice, however management wasn't so nice, they did her job correctly but I mean in terms of how they treated us sometimes, I just didn't get along with them. Also, one of the kitchen staff was very rude to me one time, throwing racist remarks at me. Certainly not something I go to work to receive. Communication would lag sometimes. For example I would arrive for my shift and I would...

I have been working at Frankie & Benny's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Tips - the money is very good, especially for a teenager. Wait staff keep their own tips (give some to kitchen and bar staff but can still double your wage on a busy night). Discount - free drinks and meal on a shift of more than 6 hours, 50% off while you're on a shift and 33% off food AND drinks at any TRG (airport restaurants, F&B's, Chiquito, Filling Station, Garfunkels). Staff - have met some amazing people...

    Cons

Long hours - multiple 11+ hour shifts in a row is very tiring. Gone well over 8 hour shifts without any kind of break even when I was under 18. Nature of the job means you'll be almost definitely working Friday and Saturday nights, Halloween, Easter weekend, Valentine's, every day during Xmas etc.. Kitchen understaffing. It makes everyone more stressed out in an already high pressure job. Food takes longer than it...

    Advice to Management

INCREASE LABOUR! All staff would be happier, complaints would decrease, a much better level of service would be achieved because there's time to think about the little details and get people things before they even ask. Get managers from actual restaurants to help when making decisions so they are realistic. It costs about £30 to have an extra person on on a Saturday night, its more than worth the amount you lose...

    Cons

Management were atrocious, talked badly of loyal and commited staff. Made you you work for an hour then gave you a 2 hour split because business wasn't busy enough.

    I worked at Frankie & Benny's part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good tips, free food during shift, uniform is provided e.g. apron & waistcoat, discount on meals at all restaurants in chain.

    Cons

Long shifts with long unpaid breaks where you're not allowed to leave; rude managers who are unhelpful at busy times; consistently underpaid by incorrectly submitted rotas; poor hygiene in kitchen.

    Advice to Management

Understand that continually cutting staff will mean the two that are left can't cover 80 tables on their own, especially when managers are sat in the office during busy times - stop being so short sighted.
