I worked at Franklin Covey full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Franklin Covey has the best content on the market. Their videos and products are exceptional.

    Cons

I can only speak to working remotely for over 20 years as a consultant. I did not work at the HQ in Utah. FC has all but abandoned it's consultant team. As consultants are paid per teaching day, and days have dropped alarmingly over the last few years, the company is doing almost nothing to remedy the problem. The running joke amongst most consultants is that the consultant job is the best part-time job you'll ever have, but you can't raise a family on it. Most are working 5-7 days per month (or less). In addition, consultants are given almost no formal feedback or career development. You are completely on your own.

    Advice to Management

Salary the consultants or cut them loose, but stop stringing them along with the current compensation and career development system. It's broken. At the very least, acknowledge the problem publicly and begin to involve the consultants in the solution. Stop pretending everything is just great.

    Pros

Effectiveness training is rooted in principles of effectiveness and focus on changing from the inside out.

Really good people who are committed to the mission and vision of the organization.

    Cons

Can be slow to update and upgrade training offerings.

    Advice to Management

Continue to apply the processes and concepts taught to others

I have been working at Franklin Covey full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

THE most amazing people you could possibly ask to work with - authentic, brilliant, collaborative. They truly care about and are vested in the success of each person in the company. Leadership practices EVERYTHING they teach to companies.

    Cons

Most people work remotely from home.

    Advice to Management

Do everything you can to keep remote people feeling connected. Video conference calls instead of audio conference calls is an excellent way to do that. In-person team meetings on a regular basis is critical.

    Pros

Great people, great content, flexible schedule, great training

    Cons

Confusing purpose and focus during transition of new product delivery. Late on technology. Marketing to find new company's and new business development is poor.

    Advice to Management

Don't lose sight of the people... if the goals are not being hit by the majority of the people, it's a company problem, not a people proble.
