I have been working at Franklin Electric full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work is rewarding and challenging.

    Cons

Employees are way overworked across the board and if you are in the manufacturing sector expect to be way underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Better value your employees and delegate responsibilities better.

I have been working at Franklin Electric full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I started over 5 years ago. Work is not hard and workers are very friendly. Always work to do so you very rarely get sent home

    Cons

Management and office don't seem to care about employees. Raises don't match cost of living. Turn over rate is extremely high.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees a little more they are out there doing the work. They know better then some office person who has never done job

    Pros

Excellent health insurance, good pay for our area,401k

    Cons

Favoritism, select few "supervisors" need more training in people skill...GOSSIP, RUMORS

    Advice to Management

Really need to work on getting those who DONT work out rather than keeping them for 30+ years... And letting those who do work have a chance ...supervisors are great at running good workers off while keeping those who set around gossiping

    Cons

    1. plant manager gets erratic and many people are confused
    2. some new-hires are dumb and arrogant
    3. the facility is extremely hot in summer

    Pros

the people at this facility are great. many of them are long time employees and no one knows their jobs better than they do

    Cons

they are closing the plant but never made an announcement to the plant. They have simply moved one piece after another and stayed below the minimum federal required amount of people layed off that would force them to make an announcement.

    Advice to Management

come clean early on and don't make the entire organization worry for years about the future of the plant. make the announcement, pick the people you want to stay till the end and offer them bonuses if they do. let everyone else trickle off, we have pride in our work so the products would still be good.
