    Pros

If a person is looking for fulltime work with excellent benefits, Franklin is the place to be. There are many learning opportunities within the factory for growth. The staff where I worked was very helpful, kind and considerate.

    Cons

There was not enough air conditioning in the department where I worked or the factory. It was very hot there in the summer time, especially on the paintline. The fans provided helped but, needs to be cooler.
Wider rubber mats would also be helpful on the paintline floor.

    Advice to Management

The management has an excellent team of professionals that keep the company running smoothly. The incredible teamwork of all the workers and supervisors is what makes this Franklin Electric such a wonderful place to work.

I worked at Franklin Electric full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company is great to work for specially if you are creative and have initiative. Field service includes travel but also allows flexibility.

    Cons

Sometimes it gets lonely working on your own but can be a benefit for those who do not want to be held back by a straggler.

    Advice to Management

If its not broke don't fix it. Hire the right people and watch.

I have been working at Franklin Electric full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good culture; solid IT leadership; good IT operational processes. Great coworkers, active efforts to have fun and build up the team. IT management is very transparent and they show genuine appreciation to their people. They mean it when they say, "...my door is always open."

    Cons

While a leader in their industry, it's still something of a niche market they play in. Since the company includes 24x7/follow-the-sun manufacturing, aspects unique to that industry impact IT operations. However, those impacts aren't terribly different from other organizations that have a global presence.

    Advice to Management

Please continue efforts of showing appreciation to staff. This goes a long way in career satisfaction and encourages everyone to go the extra mile.

I worked at Franklin Electric full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people are friendly and helpful. Depending on whom you are working for, there is flexibility to handle things you need to do as they come up. Overall positive experience. Good quality products you can be proud of.

    Cons

Some of the mid-level managers are disconnected from the people who end up doing the actual implementation of their desires/requirements. They still think too much like engineers and not enough like marketers. They have been slow to embrace new technology. No one wants to take ownership of their product line and be responsible for its representation to the public, even though the public is B2B.

The new computerized skills assessment can do you in if you don't pay close attention.

    Advice to Management

Embrace the internet and current technologies. Pay attention to your marketing folks.

    -Great mentorship
    -Great culture
    -Lots of growth potential
    -Work life balance is good

    Cons

One of the motto's is "mediocrity is not tolerated" but I've seen a lot of mediocrity and worse being tolerated.

Many cross department issues that hinder collaboration are overlooked and tolerated.
