I worked at Franz Family Bakery part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits, union, easy work, discount

    Cons

Very dirty facility. Managers pick favorites. You do not get enough hours to make a living and you don’t get paid well at all for the kind of work you do. All workers are men and they make crude statements constantly, enough to get someone fired but again, managers love to pick favorites here.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting managers or anyone with seniority get away with everything. Abusing their authority is not okay and you don’t do anything about it. Write them up for once and bring an end to managers bullying their employees!

I worked at Franz Family Bakery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fair pay and union benefits

    Cons

Management mistreats good workers and they reward the bad abusive employees/ foreman. The environment at the plant is bad with bad air to breathe daily, heavy flour dirt everywhere and the schedules suck (spit days off); there almost isn't a good schedule even for the most senior employees. The management and HR only are looking out for themselves with no ethics at all (just make stuff up on employees all the time). The union teamsters should do to improve this workplace; but they do very little to help to be honest. This workplace is toxic on many levels

    Advice to Management

list to long list!!! They don't listen anyways

I have been working at Franz Family Bakery full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Profit sharing, full time, year round work, good insurance, decent wage

    Cons

Fear based management style, no job security, unhappy workers, negative environment, most of the equipment is very, very old.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your attitude. Hostess hold overs in management need to appreciate the incredibly hard work, and ridiculous schedule most people at the bakery endure. Managers need to be positive, or leave. You have created a very negative work environment. Employees fear for their jobs, and that's how management wants it.
