I have been working at Frasers Hospitality full-time

    Pros

There is a fantastic family atmosphere among the properties team members which is also demonstrated at social functions. You are rewarded for your hard work. It is fantastic to work with such an eclectic mixture of talented people.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

I worked at Frasers Hospitality part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - loyalty bonuses for working 3, 6 and 12 months

    - hours-dependent commission (120 a month for a full-time F&B Assistant)

    - Generous holiday days, accrued in correlation with hours worked

    Cons

    - Late finishes/early starts (finishing around 1am to start at 7am)

    - 10% service charge on customer bills limits tips seen by staff, and staff see a minimal share of this charge (120 a month for a full-time F&B Assistant)

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff concerns and hold regular group and individual meetings to track progress and improve staff morale via rewards for achieving goals etc.

    Pros

Genuine and caring management from the top
Opportunity if you are able to work overseas
    Growing company

    Cons

The odd office politic scenario but where doesn't have that?

    Advice to Management

Continue to treat management as individuals - it was felt and it was remembered

I have been working at Frasers Hospitality full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Constant development and training. Manager and chef are pro active and open to ideas. Great place to kick start a career.

    Cons

Its normal, the politics and rubbish are just the salt & pepper of any organization. Got to spice it up a little to get the kick.

    Advice to Management

Promote and groom internal staffs, recognize potentials and develop their skills and capabilities. To have a 5 days work week for a better work life balance

I have been working at Frasers Hospitality full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interested in staff welfare, there are various systems whereby you can voice concerns etc.
Genuinely care about the guests and they promote and reward intuitive service.
Financial rewards if you consistently perform well.
They offer friends and family discounts for accommodation and encourage staff to familiarise themselves with other properties.

    Cons

Mountains of confusing and unnecessary paperwork! Triplicate books, things that need several copies and no real purpose. Miscellaneous Charge Vouchers are a joke!
Management is a bit fractured with less autonomy awarded than is perhaps useful.
Certain departments are inexplicably unable to access certain aspects of our centralised system resulting in too many people being involved in each transaction/reservation. i.e the admin side of the company is laborious and VERY confusing.
Lacking focused training. As winners of investors in people I would have expected them to offer or assist with staff training over and above the mandatory governmental courses.
Sometimes they can lack transparency, but I cannot be sure whether that is company wide or just a local failing.

    Advice to Management

    Please reduce the paperwork!

I worked at Frasers Hospitality full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not too many reports and pretty much left to achieve results with little interference from head office.

    Cons

Benefits are so-so, depends on which country and the owner's agreement to benefit package in your contract, so negotiate hard going in and read all the benefits closely! Corporate office is Singapore centric and those outside of the group might expect little opportunities to advance. Advancement potential or even lateral movement to other locations is very difficult and even though they will profess that all opportunities are posted on the company intranet site, this simply is not true. Even with 18 years in business, many policies and procedures are still not clear or updated to fit current situations within the company. Many policies and procedures are left up to the property to localize. Many initiatives are started, extra work is required and in the end, the initiative is not carried out to completion. You may feel this is just another review focused on negative comments from an unhappy ex-employee, but in fact, these are honest and fair observations made over a almost 5 year period.

    Advice to Management

Get more talent from outside of Singapore! Don't start initiatives that are not going to ever be carried out and focus on the basics.
