Reviews about "low pay"
Return to all Reviews- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Beautiful stores and the best clothes! A great 40% discount at urban, fp and anthro. Fun ppl to work with and such a cool atmosphere.
Cons
Small stores can't afford to pay employees well so you basically work for the discount. Very stressful and demanding considering what they pay you and this applies to sales associates and managers.

Pros
Generous discount; can combine at sister stores
Cons
No flexibility in scheduling; pay will be based off local cost of living/non competitive pay base;
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
My coworkers were all amazing people, the discount is fantastic, and the in-store displays keep the work environment a gorgeous place to be.
Cons
The pay is extremely low and yet the sales function like they would on commission. You are driven by numbers, but never see any pay raises for it.

Pros
discount was the best part of working there
Cons
cant afford clothes even with discount due to lack of pay and management is rude and disorganized
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
- Fun coworker (if you are lucky) - great discount
Cons
First of all, there is no HR which is great for upper management because if there was they would be fired. The upper management seems to be racially biased so if you are a woc take that in mind. Don't rely on your skills or seniority to get promoted because management doesn't care. They only promote/hire if they like you. The pay is laughable and they expect you to go out of your without compensation. There are always people talking behind your back. There are no benefits or a lot of opportunity for growth. Overall, the company just overworks its employees to no end. If you have another option take that over this place. Sometimes they still interview people when they already hired someone for the position! This company is a waste of time.

Pros
Great discount and the *possibility* of making lifelong friends
Cons
low pay AND you are expected to spend your money on their clothes to look the part.

Pros
The brand is truly inspiring and forward thinking. You will learn a lot! No matter what your position you get a chance to affect many aspects of the business which is a lot of fun. The benefits, IF you are on salary, are great.
Cons
While there is a lot of 'room for growth' there is a very broad and non-specific timeline on that growth and it's easy to get burned out while you wait around for the idea of a promotion. Other than that get ready for LONG hours and fairly low pay compared to other similar brands. They very much consider themselves a growing brand and pay accordingly.

Pros
Good work life balance because schedules run Sunday-Saturday. You can take Friday-Monday off without using any PTO but you’ll be working a 5+ day stretch before and after your 4 day break. Obviously, it is retail and you are mostly expected to work weekends The company likes to promote from within and will really work to train you if you show interest in moving up and have a positive attitude
Cons
Huge compensation gap between store managers and anyone else. Any non salaried full time manager makes a little over minimum wage while store managers make a nice salary that sets a huge gap. Store managers don’t take on much more of a workload than their asm or avm to justify this pay gap Store managers make the schedules and take advantage of having most weekend time off
- Current Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
employee discount is 40% off
Cons
The pay is very low (12 an hour) and there's pretty much a cap on growth
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
The staff are great people with amazing personalities.
Cons
the pay is minimum wage and you can only have an increase in pay if you're made a manager.
