I have been working at Freedom Health (FL) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Smaller HMO so you can have input into your department and work. Not a lot of bureaucracy. The company doesn't seem to have layoffs like other companies around so it appears a pretty stable place to work. If you understand your job and do your work, you will do fine.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for promotional opportunities.

    Advice to Management

    Address building issues.

Relaxed workplace, adequate pay, my superior did not micromanage

    Cons

Not very knowledgeable co-workers, non-qualified doctors making important decisions about medical necessity claims, lead by fear instead of example

    Advice to Management

    Up-training

I worked at Freedom Health (FL) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Peers on the phones are nice

    Cons

If your a favorite you may survive. Training Sucks, the girl that trains you on the phones doesn't know anything. Higher up management doesn't know anything either. Manager is caddy and fake. Directer is rude. The Bathrooms never work, Their attendance policy is not whats in the hand book. They run this department with out understanding we have a family.

    Advice to Management

Remember we all have family. Be fair, but understanding.

I worked at Freedom Health (FL) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    There's really nothing great.

    Cons

Unsafe, unsanitary environment. High turn over rate due to lack of training and/or too much work for lesser pay compared to other competitors.
Yearly increases lack even if your score greatly exceeded.
Tech system is out of date and we use too many that are incompetent causing frequent crashes.

No room for growth unless someone quits!
Too much micromanaging and no company events besides the nepotistical ones.
Same people who complain abuse leave.
Lack of communication among managers causing misinformed information to our brokers.

Being forced to work weekends because they collect an extra check for additional business written.

    Advice to Management

Seize micromanaging and be more proactive with employees.

Involve team in meetings instead of singling out maybe you can improve (y)our job that includes email.

I have been working at Freedom Health (FL) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not a single thing. It's dirty and shameful to allow folks to work in squalor so sad. Not anything good.

    Cons

It's gross and smells and the office is so dirty. Managed by friends of the family not a single competent professional in the bunch. Everything you read about the facilities is true. It's so gross I was sick for months working here. Dr K is banking off the backs of us and doesn't care how but he has to make his next millions.

    Advice to Management

Clean house with people and by tearing down the disgusting office. Hopefully code enforcement will be alerted to do something.

    Cons

There was occasional unfair treatment of employees. No room for development within the company.

    Advice to Management

Need to develop ways to develop employees.

I worked at Freedom Health (FL) full-time

    Pros

Family members and friends of Dr. Patel and Rupesh Shah are treated well and promoted.

    Cons

The buildings are substandard with poor lighting, dirty and in need of repair. Parking is a nightmare. Too many people crammed into buildings that do not provide enough parking or bathroom facilities. The smells in the building are horrific.
Management is secretive. Managers speak to each other in Indian dialect purposely so that others cannot understand what they are saying. It is rude and unprofessional. Information is on a need to know only basis and questions are discouraged.
The work environment is one of back stabbing. Most people are temporaries, so that the company does not have to pay benefits for them. There are many lay-offs of the temps. Turnover is very high. There is an extreme amount of narcissism. As a result, unless you are family or friends of CEO or president or another family member, there is very little room for advancement.
The owner, Dr. Patel is greedy and uncaring of employees. Profits go into his pockets and are not spent on employees, systems, facilities, or members.

    Pros

You have the opportunity to acquire knowledge of your field.

    Cons

Since the company is small the chance for promotion is limited.
