I have been working at Freedom Mortgage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Virtually everyone I've worked with is talented and has a great attitude.
Have enjoyed more team building activities this year than at 10 years worth of time with previous employers.
    Competitive salary and compensation
Medical benefits are frequently accepted with no issues and competitively priced.

    Cons

Few amenities on site (no place to buy lunch)
    Small cubicle areas

    Advice to Management

I know it's challenging when there has been a ton of recent growth. But just keep doing the right things and bringing in the right people and the expansion will continue and the little issues that crop up with rapid growth will take care of themselves.

I have been working at Freedom Mortgage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good base, PTO and health ins. Good team managers. Lots of incoming leads

    Cons

Terrible operations, Upper management (the ones that make the rules) have never done a loan and have no idea what they are doing, but they try to tell the loan officers how to do their jobs. This leads to a ton of angry borrowers and loan fallout. Also, they don't care about your life or time, no work life balance. They change your schedule at the drop of a hat, you can't make plans for your days off, because those days might just change at any moment. They micro manage you every second. Its all about getting applications, but not about closings.

    Advice to Management

Learn the business, before you make policy about loan processes. Treat your LO's like adults, we don't need to be told when to go to the bathroom. Listen to your team managers and give them more respect. Focus on closing loans, no one makes money until the loans close. Stop changing things that heavily impact your employees lives without regard to them. (commision structure, hours)

I have been working at Freedom Mortgage full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The buildings have roofs. One generous sheet of TP per employee per day. I had to buy my own pens.

    Cons

Senior Management went to school at hamburger college. You're treated like a literal piece of dirt-a spec on the top at one moment and buried in the ground with a pink slip the next. You'll watch all your coworkers be part of a 3 month rotation layoff & then count the days to you're next. There will always be a organizational restructure, we're all pawns, this place is a welcome wagon for an early death.

    Advice to Management

Stop getting left back in grade school, and you're disposal too, watch out, your exit is around the Freedom corner.

    Pros

There is definitely a work life balance but you have to earn it… You work hard you play hard. For some of these reviews take it with a grain of salt. I know from experience I don't get handed things. I earned what I have and what I have received because I worked my butt off but you have to earn the respect and the privileges of getting certain leads for doing your job well and working really hard every single day. There's employees that come in and after three months and decide to take some time off.. well if you earned it fine but if you're a low performer why wouldn't you come in on a weekend? This is sales. I love this company and I love my clients bottom line but if you're not performing then yes you're probably putting in a bad review because you're not doing your job. I'm so fortunate to have a family that backs me up and supports me so that I can earn a living with such a great company that I support and love. I don't think of this as a job I think of this as my career and I plan to go places with freedom mortgage. If you are a current employee that is bashing freedom then get out. Or talk to your management about it because we are all a family. The company doesn't deserve to be bashed like this. We are the number one VA and FHA lender in the country for a reason and it's because we have awesome employees so the ones that are talking bad about the company obviously are not in it for the long run.

    Cons

I honestly cannot think of anything except for what I wrote below to management. I just think that we all are a family and we got this.

    Advice to Management

My only complaint is that while we are on the phone with our borrowers to be courteous of the noise.

I worked at Freedom Mortgage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work from home option is nice for some people and casual dress days.

    Cons

No consistency with company policies and procedures. Salaries are low unless you're an Underwriter or Loan Officer. Nepotism and "special favors" are how people get hired and promoted. Performance reviews are a joke!

    Advice to Management

Learn real management and leadership skills, as well as interviewing skills.
