I worked at Freescale Semiconductor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good interaction with highly skilled designers in a friendly project environment, good benefits with appropriate salary level, challenger projects, good roadmap of products.

    Cons

Sometimes the lack of transparency between the communication of the top management with the employees was the cause of demotivation of the team

    Advice to Management

Could be more opportunities for intra company job rotation

    - Dedicated Team
    - Open to new ideas
    - Hard work does get rewarded

    Cons

    - Should focus on employees learning the basics first before they are handed tough assignments

    Advice to Management

    - Should take in more feedback from employees
    - Employees should have a say in what work they are being assigned

I worked at Freescale Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pre-merger, great place to work - employees felt empowered and management turned things around. Post-merger - not so much.

    Cons

NXP management was very obviously out to chop down the organization and get ready to flip the company. Little to no regard for legacy FSL employees - we were turned out in droves. But hey, it worked!

    Pros

Freescale was excellent to work at

NXP took over, and now it stinks. If you are a long term employee from Motorola and Freescale, they don't want you at NXP
