    I worked at Freight+Volume part-time

    Pros

You are able to work along with some very talented artists and art professionals. Long-term freelance with the gallery is possible.

    Cons

The gallery director seems short on Money. Working as an intern, do not feel shy to get the reinbursement for the work that you did.

    Advice to Management

If you the director can be more aware of the unpaid

I worked at Freight+Volume as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I learned how not to run a gallery. That is probably the only positive thing I learned from this otherwise terrible experience.

    Cons

Honestly, there were red flags everywhere and I should've left a lot sooner than I did.
The owner has issues and communication problems, felt like I was walking on eggshells a lot of times. I had issues getting paid my stipend that were not resolved until after I had left. There's a lot more to be said but bottom line stay as far away from this place as possible. As the other reviews mention it's not worth the hassle or mental anguish.

    Advice to Management

Stop relying on the work of unpaid interns, and work on your communication skills, who knows, maybe you'll stop having some of the many problems you seem to constantly have.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

None, I got hired and literally stayed for about 3 months until I quit because I couldn't deal with how unorganized the management was

    Cons

Long hours, no growth, overworked management, owner is completely out of touch with business

    Advice to Management

    Do Better

    Pros

if you are in a pinch , it's a gig, but takes a while to pay invoice

    Cons

annoying, disorganized and in general frustrating to work for

    Pros

There are no pros in this gallery.

    Cons

Just don't waste your time with these guys. You will get no experience at all and no knowledge about the art world. Do something valuable with your time other than working here.

I worked at Freight+Volume as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

nada. i guess you get some "gallery experience", if that is even considrable

    Cons

Belittled by owner, gets yelled at for things that are not even your fault, expected to read minds, and not an actual unpaid internship experience- since we do the workload of a gallery assistant. Hilarious because we are not even getting paid to deal with this bs....

    Advice to Management

If you want to have unpaid interns-fine, but at least respect us, appreciate our time, and pay us a stipend without us needing to literally beg for the money. Oh, and to not expect a place to run amazingly by relying on unpaid work.

    Pros

none absolutely nothing positive to say

    Cons

rather disorganized , rude owner , cheap , felt miserable and anxious .

    Advice to Management

You can't put things off for last minute and expect everything to run smoothly , also if you want to keep potential interns loose the attitude and passive aggressiveness. We don't get paid enough to feel worthless (or at all) .
