I worked at FreshDirect full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity for growth. The company offers promotions internal in the company. The company treats us employees great and care about us, our health and our family.

    Cons

The Recruiters for Transportation should go through a better process in bringing Drivers to the company. And also do a week training for drivers.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you do

    Pros

Employee discount transit check and parking card CDL training program "opportunity for advancement" which is not based on merit or seniority

    Cons

From a shifter prospective not having a traditional 8AM-4PM "no relief" and being questioned as to why you need to take days off

    Advice to Management

Learn how to communicate in a professional manner save the facial expressions and snide remarks

    Pros

    Tips can sometimes be good.

    Cons

Overwork their employees. Minimum wage. The hell that I have to go through to get in contact with a human being to talk about my missing W2. Any branch they connect me to, HR, Payroll, Coporate, there's always either a 30 minute wait or a voicemail. What a mess of a company.

I have been working at FreshDirect full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Young Company, constant challenging work, Hipster Vibe, Innovative, Evolving, can hang with the big boys and still keep that mom and pop charm.

    Cons

Long Hours, Some corp positions are plant based and do require working non traditional hours. Employees in the plant who are set in ways and refuse to think outside the box at new ideas. Very lean company, if you manage people you'll do it side by side, you will share office space and yes you'll manage your own calendar and do your own copies.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful not everyone will be able to give up a large portion of their work life balance for non traditional hours and schedules. Focus on benefits to attract and retain. 401K match for starter. PTO cash out option, enhance commuter benefits and stronger more robust healthcare college will definitely keep people long term.
