I have been working at Freshworks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Freshworks continues to grow at a tremendous pace, which presents opportunities for exciting work and career growth.

    Cons

As a late stage startup, Freshworks can be tough for people who need a lot of structure. You have to have a good comfort level with uncertainty.

I worked at Freshworks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good culture Great product Very talented people Freshworks has the building blocks to be one of the best companies in the bay area, and dominate their markets.

    Cons

Your experience depends on your manager. Some are fantastic, some are very difficult to work for. Lacking in overall support to some teams. If you're not an Account Executive, you're not going to be a priority. A 2019/2020 rush of hiring has resulted in some poor organizational decisions and a management team that isn't prepared to meet the demands of a large workforce, and hasn't included enough women in pivotal roles. Promotions are rare, and some roles have no path to promotion whatsoever. In a company expanding so rapidly, they should be looking internal-first. There isn't a coordinated sales & marketing effort to build the customer base. Each team is doing things in their own way, and the strategy changes day-by-day. Pay is well below market rate.

    Advice to Management

Take the above criticism seriously to drive organizational change, and FW will dominate. When several employees all have complaints about the same problem areas, actually take action.

    I worked at Freshworks

    Pros

The product is good overall and clients are happy with it for the most part. People are nice and will help when you need them. Company is headed in the right direction and growing fast. Learn a lot about mid market sales process.

    Cons

Management is very numbers and tasks driven and don’t care much about employee happiness. They said that they don’t want to promote any sales development reps for some reason, so you get stuck in the same role. They also micro manage you with the time you arrive to work and leave, so you get yelled at for being late. Long commute to san Mateo and they don’t allow for work from home... Benefits aren’t that great and you can get better base pay at other tech companies.

I have been working at Freshworks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Executive Leadership is solid and has a strong vision for the company. IPO could happen if they get their processes figured out.

    Cons

There really is no sales process here and the new mid-level managers lead by fear and not execution. There's no HR so things are done and said that managers can get away with. I have heard things in team meetings that would not fly at any other public company with HR. Stop hiring mid level managers that have no experience managing account executives. Mid level Salesforce politics are seeping into the company and ruining the spirit.

I have been working at Freshworks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Unparalleled product. Astounding engineering team. Clear vision and direction. Minor perks include free food, unlimited PTO, and a generally lax and easy culture, but, ultimately, the writing is on the walls that FreshWorks is geared to set you up for success, and even better, a non-stressful place to work that is devoted to your success.

    Cons

I'm really shocked by some of the bad reviews. A couple of the bad reviews made me a little freaked out to start, including one that mentioned that "they make you write positive reviews," which is absolutely untrue, in addition to others. It's clear they care about people, listen to requests, and treat you easily.

I have been working at Freshworks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Walking into Freshworks was refreshing to say the least. This is the type of place that gives you the autonomy to thrive and grow if you take the initiative to do so. No, it’s not a perfect place, but taking the initiative to solve problems and push limits is highly encouraged. For a seemingly small start up, it’s amazing to see how the company competes head-to-head with some of the worlds biggest software companies. It really is the perfect mix of right time, place, team, and products. Also, new office with all the perks. Free lunches multiple times a week. Unlimited PTO. Open door policy to management.

    Cons

I’m surprised to read some of the negative reviews posted on Glassdoor. The company management team are working hard to improve every aspect of the organization and culture. It’s a high growth environment which means that processes are constantly being implemented, refined, and changed. This is expected given the stage that the company is currently in and senior leadership is hyper aware of the need to evolve as the company grows.

    Pros

You have access to an unlimited amount of resources here to succeed in the sales org, the environment is truly team-first and knowledge sharing and collaboration is strongly encouraged and is a company culture code. No corner office sales managers here..management gets involved and invested in reps success and growth so long as you are open to feedback. Team selling is regularly practiced and wins are celebrated ensuring everyone else who had involvement gets recognition.

    Cons

None that I can think of and have been here for over two years and have seen how our organization has evolved and matured exponentially in that time.

    Advice to Management

As with any company that has the growth rate and opportunity in front that we do, ensure that we continue to hire right-fit candidates as we continue to scale.
