    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Freudenberg Nonwovens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay well, management seems to genuinely care. Safety is taken very seriously.

    Cons

Can be very inflexible with regards to improvements and is backwards technologically in a lot of ways. Certain people in management need to retire to open up to some fresh perspectives. Managers can be sometimes too involved and micromanage.

Another review mentioned opportunities to other parts of Freudenberg, but I'm not sure that applies to my division yet.

    Advice to Management

If you're a manager, you need to be managing. If you have to micromanage constantly because your employees aren't doing their job, that's a problem.

    Pros

    I can't think of anything...

    Cons

Nepotism, massive egos, gossip/backstabbing, racism, managers only care about themselves and systematic layoffs.

I have been working at Freudenberg Nonwovens full-time

    Pros

Excellent company to work for, great work environment, benefits are excellent, high focus on employee safety

    Cons

Production atsmosphere limits flexibility in some positions, room for growth can be limited at the site, but the company is also good at trasitioning talent to other locations

    Advice to Management

need to increase flexability to appeal to younger demographic of new hires. Options to work remotely and have flex hours would go a long ways to retaining employees

    - Supportive, developmental atmosphere with emphasis on work/life balance. They hold on well to their good people.
    - Multicultural like no other

    Cons

    - Sometimes a little dull, you must be into B2B industrial goods
    - Huge company, you get a 'cog in the machine' vibe sometimes

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Everyone working is very competent and knows what they're doing. The bonus system is a good way to encourage performance and promotions are available for merit.

    Cons

Company is a bit too meeting-happy. Meetings are all good and well, but meetings often take up a whole day leaving less time to actually implement decisions made in those meetings. Many people don't need to be at all those meetings either.

    Pros

The 14 day a month work schedule affords workers the opportuinity to lead a more balanced life. I have been presented with the opportunity to advance at an accelerated pace. The bonus system is also a great way to motivate employees and keep everyone focused on the companies guiding principles.

    Cons

12 hour shifts can be grueling especially in the summer months. Not alot of parity in pay. some individuals with fewer responsibilities and job requirements make the same dollar amount as you do.

    Advice to Management

So far management has been good to work with.

    Pros

    Long-term outlook.
Management answers to family shareholders who want long-term return, not the quick buck of required from public companies.
    Great co-workers and management.
    Benefits are great!

    Cons

It is a large company (32,000 employees).
Communication has to be improved between business segments.
    Limited growth/advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Develop more opportunities to communication between business segments - at the mid-manager and lower level.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Seven workdays out of 14. 12 hour shifts are ok. Work is relatively easy, and fun. The comraderie between co-workers.

    Cons

alternating shifts of two weeks days and then two weeks nights. the temperature of the spin beam room, and the smell of laquer thinner when you clean the tacs.

    Advice to Management

treat all employees with the respect you would like yourself to be treated with, and not just as a second class citizen.
