    Pros

Hospital benefits even if you work for an ambulatory center, opportunity to change position within hospital and their ambulatory centers, 8, 10, and 12 hour shift options many places/departments

    Cons

Management is so poor. If there are issues in the work place that you're facing you might as well forget about having a strong manager to assist you. Many of the mangers there are actually the problem. No standards in the process of hiring managers since likely your manager will not have a degree in management or even a degree at all...Makes for a very unprofessional and unpleasant work environment since overpowering staff rule the roost and drive good staff out. I worked at 2 of Frisbie's locations with identical outcomes. I left the organization and realized how messed up it had been there now that I have a strong manager and a healthy work environment.

    Advice to Management

Ensure your managers have proper training. If an employee reaches out for patient safety issues, workplace conduct, or any other concerns address them professionally. Don't let employees that consistently demonstrate poor performance advance their careers.

Continue keeping your ears open to your staff.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the innovation and creativity.

I have been working at Frisbie Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are not bad. Nursing assistants work extremely hard, especially on night shift.

    Cons

Small, community hospital with fewer resources available, especially during night shifts. On L&D floor, physicians are often unprofessional and condescending to all staff and constantly are talking about each other to nursing staff. Census has been declining.

I worked at Frisbie Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great flexibility with vacation time, good benefits

    Cons

Very low pay scale and horrible raises. Very under appreciated .

    Advice to Management

Value your long time loyal employees. Acknowledge good things and not only the bad. No room for growth and forget about ever making decent money! As I said, benefits are good, but if you have a family you'll need a second job.
