I have been working at Frisch's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I get paid really good sometimes it's hectic but I love my job. They treat you really fair and they hire felons.

    Cons

You have to be able to multitask and sometimes it gets hectic. Our general manager doesn't know how to order correct from commissary so we're constantly running out of things. And when you run out of things it makes your job a little harder, sometimes you have to improvise with what you have to make up for what you don't.

    Advice to Management

The Spring Grove store could definitely use a different general manager. We just got a new general manager and he doesn't really know how to order from commissary so we're constantly running out of things and all the managers aren't on the same page. The general manager came in and change the whole bunch of things and I don't feel like it's up to Frisch's standards.

    I worked at Frisch's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's fast food, but also full service. You can turn tables here faster than at a restaurant that serves alcohol, so you make decent money even though tips are small.

It was part time, and mostly 5-8 hour shifts 3 days a week, so I had plenty of time to be home.

    Cons

Diners expect their food FAST, and tables turn quickly. Many people leave bad tips or don't tip at all. It is a lot of work and very fast paced.

Stations were often overstaffed, making shifts boring and less lucrative. Our procedures of vacuuming next to active tables and seating customers before the cleaning spray had dried definitely turned people off. The building was sadly old, faded and outdated.

Overall, Frisch's seems to cater to a dying generation of penny pinchers. The menu choices lack freshness or innovation. Basically Bob Evans without the cleanliness, exciting dishes or professionalism.

    Advice to Management

Overall, there was a lack of consistency. Each diner got a different experience depending on when they went there. This is death in business. Procedures and training materials were old and outdated, making it harder to train new people.

Renovate some of these ancient locations! They are faded and grimy. Put some effort into developing new menu items. Maybe adopt some lettuce that isn't iceberg or some whole-grain bread. Make dinner rolls that don't come out of a plastic envelope.

I have been working at Frisch's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A few of the people are nice to work with. Some are easy to get along with.

    Cons

The management is horrible. The general manager is cracked out 90% of the time. The assistant manager spends more time fraternizing with a select few employees than doing there job. Two of the leads that are in the running for manager come in high to work. Nobody is treated fairly. People who come in to work high and argue with other employees get 40 hours a week but the people who come in and do there job without all of the drama have to scrap for 30.

    Advice to Management

    Respect is earned, not given

    I worked at Frisch's part-time

    Pros

Great management and incredible co-workers. Training was excellent and the team worked together very well. Great atmosphere.

    Cons

Typical downside of restaurant work--unpleasant customers--this is beyond the control of the company. The meal discount could be better.

    Advice to Management

Keep striving for excellence. Continue to value employees and make them feel appreciated. Encourage ongoing training and continual improvement.

I have been working at Frisch's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary's. Can build great teams that work well together. Long term employees that love Frisch's.

    Cons

Horrible change when the company sold several years ago. No communication. No ethics. Fake caring. Unfocused leadership and a clear lack of understanding why Frisch's was great for so many years. No respect. And arrogant.

    Advice to Management

Be real. Know your customers and employees. Everything doesn't need to be fixed. If it was good enough to buy then something was right!
