I worked at Froedtert Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Level I trauma center. Magnet hospital, good training, and supportive environment with a lot of teamwork. Units are very specialized. Policies are clear.

    Cons

Work/life balance, there are many expected extracurricular activities (magnet related). Very busy, chaotic at times. Limited resources on certain floors.

I worked at Froedtert Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay. Nice workout. Great entry job to get into hospital.

    Cons

Management doesn't care about you, only if work is done. Short staffed, so often overworked.

I worked at Froedtert Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a great place to work.

    Cons

Inconsistent work schedules, but that should be expected at a clinic.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

I have been working at Froedtert Health part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large healthcare facility, always with a position to fill. The Epilepsy doctors are top notch and respect a well-trained and educated technologist. Monthly CEU opportunities. Rare on call hours due to 24 hr double coverage. Multiple modalities

    Cons

Employs techs with little to no education or experience for high wages. Management has no regard to valuing credentials. Double digit VEEG machines. Department is in terrible condition with mismatched carpet and signs hanging off walls. Need new coat of paint. Patients complain about appearance of the lab.

    Advice to Management

Patient care will be affected if no incentive is provided for gaining education and registries in this field. Being able to tap into knowledge to trouble-shoot and recognize patterns to alert the doctor can make a huge difference in patient outcomes. Also, by not valuing the high level of talent and resources the department currently has, you are creating a culture of resentment that will again lead to high turnover.

I worked at Froedtert Health full-time

    Pros

I have worked for 2 of the 3 hospitals in the system and they both have been great. Food Service wages and benefits were way above other hospitals in the area. Even the high school students were paid well. They really seem to care about patient care. I would still be working there had we not moved out of the area.

    Cons

I have nothing bad to say about either time I worked here

I have been working at Froedtert Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin believes in diversity and empowering their employees to work to the best. They don't just pay lip service to these values - they actually do it. They value teamwork and doing the best in the community and they follow thru. I love working there and would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Cons

It's a large company and IT has issues with getting people access - it's a pain, but it happens everywhere.

    Advice to Management

Keep the current CIO, as she has great vision and will make huge improvements to the IT department.

I have been working at Froedtert Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None at all that I can think of

    Cons

Treat their staff like crap. Most of the depts are short staffed and people are overworked. If you can't get your work done then you get threatened. They don't see any thing wrong with people working off the clock or not taking lunch/ breaks. It's like working in sweat shop conditions.

    Advice to Management

Stop threatening your staff and treat them better.
