I have been working at Froedtert Health full-time

    Pros

Our team is wonderful - it's really my fantastic set of co-workers that make this place great.

    Cons

Sometimes I feel upper management is a little out of touch with our clients, but that you'll find in any business.

    Advice to Management

Don't dismiss your younger counterparts - they have some useful ideas.

I have been working at Froedtert Health full-time

    Pros

    The pay is very reasonable

    Cons

There is no overtime allowed, there for if your in the middle of finishing up some things right when it's time to clock out, you might as well leave the work for you to finish the next day.

    Advice to Management

You pass up a lot of good, talented employees for that advancement opportunity in Leadership roles and you give it to someone who can barely communicate openly or even write a proper email. I see this a lot in a few companies, all because their Resume says "Lead" on it. Did you ever stop an think how that person succeeding In that role?

I have been working at Froedtert Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Patient centered provides a great service to the community and high quality. Good benefits.

    Cons

Standards of work life balance not consistent across departments. Very little a subordinate employee can do if you there are issues at the level of your director. It really depends on your manager. Yearly review process is a total chore with very little merit rewarded.

    Advice to Management

Reward hard working staff for the work they do an notice it. If leafership is not retaining staff do something about it instead of keep letting it happen. Part of a managers performance should heavily consider staff retention.

I worked at Froedtert Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are on par with the industry. Some very good staff in IT.

    Cons

Some in management were promoted for political reasons, or cronyism which has caused IT to be in disarray. For exmample one of these top level directors stopped the ITIL implementation in progress. Many frontline managers do not understand the technical duties of their staff. HR treats IT staff as though we are nursing staff.

    Advice to Management

To the new CIO: continue to clean house of poor management, you made a huge step in the right direction, more high level changes are still needed. Take managers out of positions that they really do not have any background in, I'm a firm believer that frontline managers need to have a background in the technical duties that their staff are managing, many examples where this is not the case, which has directly caused major IT outages.
