I worked at Frontier Communications as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    I was not micro-managed.
    I was treated respectfully.

    Cons

I was put on furlough and was not told that I wasn't being brought back along with multiple other contractors - not nice.

    Advice to Management

Contractors are people with families & bills - please realize that.

I worked at Frontier Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I came across some really good folks there. Unfortunately there seems to be one great person for every one that is over their head, doesn't take responsibility, or just waiting for the ship to go down.

    Cons

Their business strategy makes no sense. They are living on CAF II funding. They are losing customers left and right. They are only showing a growth pattern by buying territories Vz/ATT/etc don't want. Has a WorldCom smell to it. Executives are more worried about becoming titles then worrying about their employees. The systems are archaic or kept on Excel spreadsheets. They are not willing to invest in system development to solve the operational issues. One of the C suite executives has their pet IT system and even though it is significantly under capable, they just keep pumping resources into it.

    Advice to Management

There is only so much a company can demand from their people. You expect us to do more with less but in reality when you are running on a shoestring there isn't much left to do something with. That is what you are asking for. Hold you executive manage accountable.

I worked at Frontier Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good Pay, Benefits, Friendly co-workers

    Cons

Micromanaging, management communication issues, interdepartmental communication issues, too much focus on sales in a support role

    Advice to Management

Don't have coaches writing policies - leave that to HR, listen to your employees, respect the work force, stop with the secrets and be open about what's going on in the business, don't audit agents for things that happened 6 months back

I worked at Frontier Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The individual people who make up the company, front line folks up to manager are great contributors to the business who have a concern for the customer.

    Cons

Lack of information or communication is never disseminated down to people who work, lack of vision, Directors and above do not have the fundamental business concept on how business should be run. Think hard and twice about working for Frontier, it will be great at first, then reality will set in.

    Advice to Management

Your best employees keep leaving the company as mid-management, Director up to Sr VP, do not understand as to why. It’s my way, verse listening or asking for input, that is demonstrated in their lack of leadership qualities.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay for education expenses to improve my skills in the marketplace. This is a nice benefit regarding the shaky situation we face as a company.

    Cons

Upper level leadership doesn't seem to have it together at all. Currently we face a unimproving situation and there is no communication from the top down any more

    Advice to Management

Trust the frontline reps more than you have to help you navigate the course rather than archaic strategies that should have been replaced by all corporations by now. It's 2017, update already.

    Pros

Good engineers and friendly team members.

    Cons

Poor leadership, with no strategic plan, company is trying to purchase its way to growth without ever reconsolidating or restructuring properly.

Toxic leadership is allowed to remain and drive commercial portfolio into the ground.

    Advice to Management

Fire yourselves. Have the board rehire C-level and their 2 echelons below.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Your co- workers and Saturdays

    Cons

Poor management decisions, lake of communication, 2018 we have to "pay back" Frontier because they are in financial ruins. 75.00 a mth for a single person and 175.00 for a plus 1. This is the worse thing they could have came up up. WE as employees are having to GIVE our employee money back that we worked for because of their business choices is an outage. I feel a law suit coming on in Allen, Tx.

    Advice to Management

Hey your #^#^ together, look into all the bad policies your center are creating. The stress of each employee is going to be the end to you. Stop allowing coaches the ability to write policy. START obeying the laws.
