I have been working at Fujitsu full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Location is convenient that's about it. Wish I could say more, but this place has minimal pros compared to other companies in Bay Area that employees actually want to work at.

    Cons

Executive staff unfriendly, morale is low, culture is conservative, rigid not contemporary and power trips everywhere you turn. Building and office space in need of update as well- it is old structure. Change is not in the vocabulary only "do as I say" type of environment.

    Advice to Management

    Get with the times!

I worked at Fujitsu full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you don't want to learn any more, then you can find a corner here to deteriorate professionally.

    Cons

This place is the detritus of technology. Very bureaucratic and sorely lacking in any kind of leadership. A complete mismatch in today's environment.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to pretend you can crack new markets. It's over.

    Pros

20 years and I can't say anything positive because of the changes made in the last few years!

    Cons

Poor management changes and decisions have lost some great talent because of it. They will continue to lose money and reorg to hide the fact they are losing money. Always exuses for stifling employees!

    Advice to Management

stabilize and lose the texas mgmt teams...go back to basics!

I worked at Fujitsu full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good work life balance.
2 weeks shutdown at the end of the year giving some time to relax and de-stress.
    Decent benefits and 401k match.
Decent Japanese food served in their cafeteria.

    Cons

Highly confused management team leading to a finger-pointing and poorly managed work environment.
De-motivated employees who are looking to exit the company but unable to do so as the poor work environment has sucked out their inner confidence to do so.
No stock options and below market compensation.
Extremely difficult to innovate or to perform in your job as you will need to get several approvals before your project will be green lighted.
Very very slow work environment that does not enourage innovation and will render you useless if you put in more years into this company.
Highly political and back stabbing is rampant throughout the organization even by your own peers and boss.
Management does not communicate to the employees and is not transparent with what's going on leading to high levels of distrust.

    Advice to Management

Communicate transparently to your employees and don't play hide and seek with them.
Align the management team first on a common vision and then expect your employees to be more productive.
Encourage our employees to take more risks and understand that there will be some failures - eliminate the finger pointing culture you have today as it will kill innovation.

I worked at Fujitsu full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Prior to current President-CEO ; FCPA a subsidiary of Fujitsu and a PFU company was a balanced positive rewarding environment . Great Products and great people. Dominated the document scanner business and was a great place to work.

    Cons

Only 1 the CEO and President
He specifically micromanages and is unfair in his treatment of employees .
He creates a hostile work environment and everyone is afraid of him even those in his chosen circle.
Unfortunately his management and the board fails to see how he has destroyed the reputation of the company both inside and out.
But then again if you own the market who cares about the people who worked tirelessly to get you there, out with the old , in with the new,

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the CEO and return the company to its former reputation of being a great place to work,

    - increase the customer base by adding new customers or new products.
    - there are limited number of telecom and cable operators, build products that fit them all.

I worked at Fujitsu full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Account specific management is great and in tune with the needs of the employees that support the account. In the past 6 months there has been an active attempt to breathe fresh perspective into the larger account teams with very intelligent and good leaders.

Given the recent mass exodus there are a lot of roles available for those who want a challenge. This could be a huge opportunity for someone who wants to get involved in the renaissance of a company under new leadership.

    Cons

Pay is below area averages, raises are significantly below inflation and industry averages, there is not a great amount of effort or time put into goals and performance management.

There is little to no opportunity for training or conferences in the budgets. Management continues to demand employees seek certifications and training but on their own dollar and time.

Senior management refuses to be customer facing unless absolutely forced to and allows the mid-managers to get beaten up on by the client only to deliver the news to deaf ears. They also have not taken client concerns seriously until it has reached the boiling point and there are serious issues noted. Again, this is the corporate management and not the account team management.

    Advice to Management

Reconnect with the employees doing the work and get in front of customers. Do not make employees threaten to leave in order to recognize them and reward them for the hard work they have done in the form of raises, promotions, and recognition.

The idea of not being "customer facing" cannot be the ridiculous view of corporate senior management when you are doing outsourcing of IT functions.
