    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Fulbright full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some other smart, good people in Marketing, but she'l force them away soon.

    Cons

Catherine is a pretty poor leader, because she's never studied marketing. Can you imagine a CFO who never studied accounting? She micro-manages everyone and picks favorites (not the best and brightest) but the average and mediocre, who don't threaten her.

    Advice to Management

Do you really want to keep someone with a turnover rate of 30% a year? Catherine motivates by fear. Get rid of her. Unless you want to keep replacing the entire marketing dept. two and 1/2 years.

I have been working at Fulbright (Less than a year)

    Pros

You have an amazing opportunity to travel and once your contract is over, there are many opportunities for you to grow professionally. The alumni association that is associated with Fulbright is very helpful.

    Cons

My only con is that it is a 10 month contract that cannot be extended.

    Positive Outlook

    I worked at Fulbright full-time

    Pros

Awesome grant experience. No interview required, difficult to obtain. Once on location, very little oversight; free to direct research experience as you see fit.

    Cons

Very few cons. Lack of accountability, so technically you could arrive to you research site and not do a single thing.

    Advice to Management

I had no issues with management; awesome experience overall.

    Cons

There is little room to grow

    Advice to Management

Basically good but may need more original thoughts and need more efforts on retaining members

    I worked at Fulbright full-time

    Pros

Not only is Fulbright a great place to work during your designated grant period, but the US State Department also made other funding opportunities available. With the support of Fulbright and the State Department, it was possible to provide a greater variety of educational opportunities to my students.

    Cons

Ultimately, Fulbright is a huge organization with many different types of grantees and employees. It's very easy to get lost in the mix and there's not a lot of easy career development.

    Advice to Management

Continue to make all the programs that you do known to your grantees. There are so many ways we could have collaborated better if only we'd known the others were out there!
