    Cons

High overhead makes writing competitive proposals sometimes difficult/impossible; business flow is volatile

    Advice to Management

decisions about whether to use experienced outside contractors should be based on interests of the client, not the firm

I worked at Fuld + Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Small company with good benefits. Solid reputation in the industry with long standing clients. Project work offers the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of industries and develop analytical and consulting skills.

    Cons

Lots of changes and high turnover. Morale can be very bleak at times although there are efforts to boost morale. Lack of clear unified company mission. Project work also makes it difficult to manage work loads so there are times when everyone is buried and then there are slow times and everyone panics.

    Advice to Management

Keeping the lines of communication open are important and management has gotten better at this. Management has also gotten better at recognizing and celebrating successes, this really helps morale.

I have been working at Fuld + Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Small firm with an emphasis on collaboration means consultants have opportunity for immediate impact and influence on client engagements
Get to work with some of the most significant and innovative companies
No two projects are alike, resulting in very diverse and interesting work

    Cons

Firm is in the midst of a strategic repositioning and as a result has had some fits and starts
Small firms means resources for training, professional development and the like are not on part with larger consulting firms

    Advice to Management

Provide more support and guidance to staff so that they can meet management expectations for growth. Communicate what is expected related to the repositioning.

I worked at Fuld + Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fuld offers some flexibility with the work-schedule, with occassional work from home opportunities which is helpful given the downtown location. They have a great reputation for CI within the market and as a result have a wide range of projects and clients.

    Cons

There has been a lot of turn-over at the senior level in the past few years. The company seems to be struggling a bit in redefining itself.

    Pros

Excellent mid-level managers/colleagues that collaborated well on client engagements.
    Interesting and varied projects.
Competitive compensation for Competitive Intelligence firm.
Above average benefits for a relatively small firm.
Cache of having Fuld on resume.

    Cons

    Limited room for advancement.
Increased focus on profitability since Fuld was acquired in 2011 has negatively impacted quality of some work.
High staff turnover since 2011 of 75+%

    Advice to Management

Refocus on primary intelligence collection and analysis and expand into services that require customized work and high level intelligence analysis and consulting. These areas are a better approach to higher margins than trying to gain margin through reduction of internal costs that will erode work quality and damage the firm's reputation.
