    Pros

Banking hours, great resume builder, upper management is great- branch management is not.

    Cons

Low pay, high stress. My branch was located in Frederick, MD. Not many customers that use the branch, could be quite tedious.

I worked at Fulton Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked at Fulton for three years and the company is stable and well respected in the Lancaster PA area. It can be a great place to work or an absolutely terrible place to work depending upon your department and supervisor. The company has good intentions, a nice but noisy work environment (cube farm), friendly co-workers, and decent benefits (salary is low so if you go there you would cut your best deal when you are offered the job).

    Cons

Who knew that the banking business could be so stressful! No action plan and always in a state of crisis in the corporate HQ. We spent way too much time putting our fires and responding to last minute demands that really did not allow us to do our best work. Fulton needs to simplify and be more thoughtful about business goals. The inability to work remotely is so old fashioned - there seems to be a lack of trust among management to let team members work from home! There is a lot of talk about remote work but no plan of action ... of course some managers are able to work remotely while the rest of us were required to come in Mon thru Fri 8AM and work way past 5 PM to get the job done. Constant emailing by managers 24/7/365 also made the job very stressful. Forget about having a nice relaxing family vacation - if you are not checking your email from your phone, then you will be swamped and stressed when you return from your vacation. Overall, not a good experience and glad to have moved on in my career. I took a job at higher pay with reasonable expectations and better working schedule. My new company is fair and truly cares about me.

    Advice to Management

Get your priorities straight and realize that all employees deserve to work reasonable hours and have a life outside of Fulton.

I worked at Fulton Financial full-time

    Pros

Great atmosphere, coworkers and managers are very supportive. Credit card promotions are almost always going on, so there's incentive to selling them. Plus there's often free food or food trucks around, so you'll never go hungry!

    Cons

It wasn't stressed enough during the interview process that it was mandatory to try to sell a product or service every phone call (even to irritable customers). It also wasn't stressed that we had to sell 6 credit cards per month and 6 services. I never wanted to work in sales and I always felt like we were pitted against each other and unfairly compared to reps who had been there years. Also, training focused too much on procedures and rarely on policies. When it came time to actually perform the job, I ended up doing things I shouldn't have because it was never explained to me. Many (but definitely not all) employees in other departments are quite incompetent, and we're responsible to clean up their messes and take the blame from customers. The CEO and some areas of management (outside the dept) have a reputation of acting like they should get preferential treatment. Finally, there's promise of upward mobility, but you must meet a 4 out of 5 on all parts of your evaluation (including sales) for 6 months straight to even qualify to leave the department.

    Advice to Management

Stress more that this is a service AND sales position. Also, give us a way to report other employees' errors (which are sometimes huge) without feeling like we're tattling.

I worked at Fulton Financial full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are no pros I can think of.

    Cons

It's all about who you know not about the job you do. If they do not like you they will either make your life so miserable you quit or they will find a reason to let you go.

    Advice to Management

Come down out of your ivory tower and see what actually goes on in the real world. The employees are unhappy but you don't care as long as you get your fat bonus at the end of the year.
