I worked at Fung Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Big company with name recognition
    - A handful of great co-workers
    - Decent PTO time (if you can get around to using it)

    Cons

    - Upper management really does not know what's going on despite very nice speeches
    - Depending on your division, you either get a great manager or a poor manager
    - Little to no recognition for work done
    - Business model is set up for business a decade ago. Despite changes made, look at the numbers. It speaks for the upper management.
    - No work/life balance

    Advice to Management

Many of the problems stem from employees who are grade "3" on up as they act if their word or direction is always correct; that they can do no wrong and it is the workers/team below them. Get honest and real feedback from people working below them for the real picture.

Every year, have every grade "3" or higher do the day-to-day jobs for the group/teams they lead for a full month. Do not allow them to use the "I'm the boss" card to offload any work or get additional help that a regular employee would not have access to. Have them do the job for a month straight and hold them to the same standards they lay out for their group/teams. After that month is completed, retain/fire/discipline these grade "3" according to those same standards they set for their group/teams.

I worked at Fung Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent work life balance. Variety of aesthetics and projects to work on. You can learn a lot on how NOT to manage employees here.

    Cons

Upper management is horrible. So much micromanaging, VPs are stuck in old ways, no trust, complete lack of structure, underpaid, false promises on raises and promotions, the list goes on and on.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent on projects and don't withhold information. Trust your younger staff to understand and research trends that appeal to customers. If you have to ask what Instagram or Pinterest is, there is really no hope.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Many good people to work with from many different companies from acquisitions. Sadly, they let a lot of the dedicated and loyal people go once the new acquisitions have been integrated within the company.

    Cons

Too many senior management roles that are not qualified for their positions which makes completing project goals or deadlines challenging.

    Advice to Management

Spend time on individual interviews to learn about what employees strengths or weaknesses are. Help them grow and gain experience. Especially senior management from acquisitions.
