I worked at Future Electronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with Future will teach you many aspects of electronic distribution. The company is privately owned which can be a plus. Long term employment there can be accomplished if you are a team player.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities are had to come by.

    Advice to Management

One of the biggest things I liked about Future was the people that worked there. The interview was tough, but everyone was a well qualified candidate. Take that into consideration when they speak up, the employees know more than you give them credit for sometimes.

I have been working at Future Electronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy work technically, Salary is fine for work output - being remote is everything for work/life balance. You learn the industry and they have smart engineering for a disty.

    Cons

They slice and dice the data into pillars and initiatives for Outside Sales and FAE orgs. Some of it makes sense. They changed the MBO to nearly unobtainable. No real incentive to drive the metrics if you cannot achieve them. If you have no other options and you like wholesale changes, this is for you. This is not a real FAE job, it is technical sales if you were direct with a semiconductor/electronics manufacturer.

    Advice to Management

Centralized organizations are difficult to maintain, you will drive out good workers and be left with average.

I have been working at Future Electronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very enjoyable place to work. Great leadership and the company will be at the leading edge of the distribution for many years to come.

    Cons

Sometimes there are differences in the way business is done in different global regions. This will exist with any globalized company, but for me, it's can be frustrating at times.

    Advice to Management

    None. Very strong and focused.

I have been working at Future Electronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Strong technical team across the board makes it an excellent place to learn and excel. Structured and efficient design flow makes it easy to learn and perform.

    Cons

Some GMs and GSMs are not the strongest and customer penetration sometimes is more difficult than it should be.

    Advice to Management

You got the best technical team but you don't push performance hard enough. We can be doing that much better. Don't be affraid to shake things up.

I have been working at Future Electronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary, Benefits, Teamwork, Products, Management, Opportunities, and Training along with working on the newest products with a very wide array of customers.

    Cons

Long product development cycles. Sometimes it takes two years to see products that you worked on reach the market place but when they do it is very gratifying.

    Advice to Management

Bring on some strong analog lines.

I have been working at Future Electronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working with newest hw before it's released on the market. Customers are some of the biggest names in the world. Freedom to contribute ideas on products and improve them. Colleagues are enthusiastic about technology. Senior management, company culture and career oportunities.

    Cons

Sometimes people will get hired because of a desperate need to hire people; this ruins some of the existing social chemistry. Sometimes the people that get hired get treated better than current [deserving] employees; this discussion does go into a grey area and it's something that happens in a lot of companies.

    Advice to Management

The company management is going through a continuous learning cycle, which will help it make better decisions about hiring and retaining the employees that it needs. Just don't rush the hiring part.
