I worked at G&B Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Co-workers (usually) make the job bearable

    Cons

Senior Management is somewhat .. sociopathic..
Underpaid, Management will ask you to work every weekend with no compensation; then after requesting that you do the necessary things for the contract - will fire you when the procedure documentation they provided you is incorrect.

    Advice to Management

Hiding screwups is worse than making them.

I have been working at G&B Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers have been very helpful to work with and making sure that all of the work is completed. Managers are not micro-managing which is good for employee morale.

    Cons

There is sometimes not enough communication from management. There has been more communication lately which is good and it shows that they're making a better effort.

    Advice to Management

There's always room for growth. Ensure that there is communication with employees. Work with us and we will work with you.

I have been working at G&B Solutions full-time

    Pros

The environment is somewhat relaxed and seems to be overall supportive from the management.

The company promotes improvement and promotional opportunities.

    Cons

There is no one looking out for the employee but the employee. The company was a lot better years ago and has continued to lack employee support.

Although the company seems to support you in excelling, they somehow hold you back from doing so.

    Advice to Management

There should be a lot more support of your employees to excel and be able to get a better position within the company or as a government employee.

There should be more support in general since there is always someone asking for employees to back the company.

I worked at G&B Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, capable and pleasant co-workers

    Cons

    I encountered a rather inexperienced, unprofessional,inept supervisor/Project manager

    Advice to Management

When you've got an employee providing good service and exceptional value to a client as well as good income to the company, do something to defend and support them in the face of bungling rookie supervisors within your company and on the clients' side.

    Pros

G&B Solutions is a great company that does mostly government contracting, i.e. you work for G&B and G&B works for the federal government

    Cons

Working for G&B Solutions was great, but working for the federal government was not great

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at G&B Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people, the environment, the management.

    Cons

The building was less then expected. Air would always go down during the heat of the year.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

I worked at G&B Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company was a good company to work for. It supports its employees and contractors with benefits and SkillSoft training.

    Cons

Wages were a bit on the low side, and raises were either nonexistent or so small that they were insignificant. The supplemental vision insurance is a complete waste of money considering that Aetna's health insurance provides much better vision insurance plan than the supplemental insurance plan. Supplemental vision insurance was previously needed because the previous health insurance provider had a poor vision insurance component.

    Advice to Management

I have heard that there were big pay cuts at where I worked after I left. Pay cuts are a good way to cut talent, and without talent, you are nothing.

    Pros

The leadership was fabulous. The company fostered a team environment.

    Cons

G&B was purchased by VSE Corporation and eventually G&B was combined with another wholly owned subsidiary of VSE.

    Advice to Management

Values, Training and Office Culture were amazing

    Pros

People, environment, collaborative approach. It was nice to work with a good team of folks who cared about what they did, and cared about doing it right.

    Cons

Got merged with Akimeka, another VSE subsidiary, and Akimeka is not only the worst company I've ever worked for, it's the worst company I've ever seen. Everybody good bailed after the merger.

    Advice to Management

It was good while it lasted!
