    Pros

G&K really cares about their employees which is evidenced by the strong tenure among the organization. Upper management also cares about their workforce and listens to them for suggestions on how to make things better.

    Cons

Competitive industry for sales and a lot of cold-calling.

I have been working at G&K Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The Sales Manager at this location has built a great team and makes it an enjoyable place to work. Salary and commissions are not the only rewards. Diana finds creative ways to incentivize her team, keep the job and office fun, and is a joy to work for.

    Cons

If you don't enjoy hearing a lot of "no" to get to the few "yeses", then this job isn't for you. It takes a lot of cold calling and database mining to find good accounts to be able to make enough money. Starting salary can be considered low and there is a high turnover rate at this company overall. When a new GM comes into this business, they can make blanket changes to programs and incentives that have been in place for years and prove disruptive to the business without understanding the full impact on employee morale.

    Advice to Management

When you are trying to change a business to be more profitable, you might want to consider starting with the obvious departments that are dysfunctional and not mess with the one department that has met its goals year after year. Yanking incentives from the sales team is like picking up pennies and tripping over dollars. Price increases and poor quality products are already starting to negatively impact our customers. Worried about the direction of this location. It seems like this location is in the classic business death spiral.

Diverse product offering, diverse points of contact. Many moving parts in our company.

None that come to mind. A bit of a negative stigma to our industry

    Advice to Management

    Continue putting the customer first

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The schedule is flexible, you don't have to work. weekly pay, car allowance is paid monthly. You can totally lie about mileage, everyone does.

    Cons

The manager is non existent, cheats, works the system, plays favorites. Leads a horrible example then wonders why the team does not work. Will pretend like they are there to help. Everything is an act. Service sucks, commission plan blows. Manager never prepared for meetings and always late. Some how always gets out of everything

    Advice to Management

Hold the manager accountable so they hold the team accountable. Improve service so sales does not have to lie to customers.
