    I worked at G2 USA full-time

    Pros

Great financial management and operations processes. First rate CFO.. Great facilities - gym, etc. Teams are cohesive and long lasting.

    Cons

Ad industry is struggling to keep pace with new media. Not a G2 issue - general agency challenge. Location is a bit far to the west side of the island.

    Advice to Management

Continue to maintain good governance while balancing innovation from within. Competition for good talent will always be a challenge, sourcing process needs to be reinvented.

    Pros

Chill, quiet, sitting all day, insurance, air condiitoning

    Cons

Micro-managing, low-pay, not much room for advancement, too much gossip

    Advice to Management

Give employees the pay & raises they deserve or they will not strive to grow/improve any further

    Pros

Good salaries, talented people, beautiful offices, great clients.

    Cons

Broken process, lots of finger-pointing, no mentorship, and their strategy changes from month to month. They're always chasing the next "cool" thing, but have little to no technical skills to execute. Because they're so driven by utilization numbers, employees are constantly pulled from one project onto another, or given so many that they're splitting their time between too many clients to service any of them well.

    Advice to Management

Stop measuring success by utilization rates, and focus on results instead.

    Pros

I enjoyed working at G2. There was a great sense of camaraderie and that we were all in it together. Excellent creative work was produced.

    Cons

Some weird decisions were made by management at times.

I have been working at G2 USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

G2 was like any other ad agency owned by a large holding company. Pros - nice offices, good infrastructure and standardized processes.

    Cons

As a large-ish company, it was easy for people who weren't pulling their weight to hide for too long which can be demoralizing for those who are picking up the slack.

Very segmented - if someone wasn't on your team you probably didn't know them, even if they sat near you.

    Advice to Management

Long term strategy was often sacrificed for short term wins. Tough to balance the two when most employees, some at very high levels, are looking for their next job instead of trying to invest in this one.

    Pros

good client list and resume building opportunities, great location in midtown Manhattan, full-service agency with built out departments, entrepreneurial environment

    Cons

manager ran account into the ground, was greedy for growth and ultimately lost a long standing account

    I worked at G2 USA full-time

    Pros

There are many talented people that work here so it lends itself to learning from others. I've met some of the nicest and most talent people here who are always willing to help others. The hours can be long, but not out of control. It's an ad agency... so it's expected. It tends to be a fast paced environment to time management is key!

    Cons

It can be a bit of popularity contest at times, but if you are always professional none of that should matters.

    I worked at G2 USA full-time

    Pros

Pre-merger there were some very talented creatives, strategy and account team members.

    Cons

The merger was handled as badly as it could have been. Severe lack of communication, intentionally evasive behavior caused a mass exodus. Employees who stayed through the mass exodus were not valued for staying.

    Advice to Management

Start over. Recruit. Pay a decent salary for the job. Don't do mass layoffs before you merge and then expect people to stay.

    Pros

Great client roster of blue chip companies, above average compensation. Good inter-disciplinary team of strategists, creatives, project managers, analytic specialists and production professionals.

    Cons

Very demanding senior management - very focused on revenue and profitability vs. meeting client needs.

    Advice to Management

Put your clients' interests first and the business will grow. Provide more training opportunities and embrace emerging technology trends.
